So I finally got myself a 240 this past thursday. It's a 1991 hatchback with no power locks or windows. It does have AC which I don't really care about since I almost never use it. It does have a spoiler which has caused so much rust I think the easiest solution would be to replace the trunk lid. For now I'm just trying to fix that and make sure everything else works. The radio seems messed up but I think it's just a bad connection inside the actual radio. The person I bought it from was the original owner and she said that she got american racing rims on it as an option from a dealer. If I have money to spare I may invest in suspension and I/H/E sometime later in the summer. But honestly, this is the first RWD car I have owned so I'm probably going to try to get used to that first. My second day of driving it rained alot. Quite scary. Anyways, here are the pictures taken by the previous owner before I bought the car. It's quite dirty. I'll borrow a camera from a friend when I fix the trunk lid and clean it up.

I got one of these:

Does anyone know what rims those are, or how I could find out?

Yeah the hatch is really bad. I wonder who thought that a rubber spoiler is a good idea. The piece under the tail light I should be able fo clean up and not have to replace it. It cost me $2125.

owch that seems pretty steep, considering the mileage and rust.

Congrats...looks a hell of alot better than my car when i bought it. Yeah and the rwd does take awhile to get used to. Im still not 100% when cornering fast after a couple months. I promise you will love it though. Weight balance is great. Check out some junk yards, im sure you can find that decklid no problem. I kinda like the wheels... they are unique, not sure what kind though, dont they have anything written on the centercaps?

nice, yea rwd is hard to get used to. I was used to driving my dads s-10 and it would spin and catch 2nd gear without me even trying. Now with my nice limeted slip, i can shift hard into second w/o spinning if i want to, normally take it easy tho. It is a great car once you learn how to drive it. Congrats and good luck. Got any plans for her?

Just got back from my friend racing. He lost by half a car length and he had him by a car off the line.I raced him with his car and he had a perfect launch against me and I lost by a car. His car is slower than mine and I don't know why. This was an auto RS camaro that we raced in a 92 hatch with a crappy exhaust

I was hoping to spend under 1800 for it but after about 3 weeks of looking very hard for a hatch without a moonroof I realized that getting anything thats not falling apart in this area will cost me over 2000, especially since I was being picky. The car seems to have been taken care of well. There is no rust anywhere except for on the trunk lid as far as I can see.

Plans are to stick to one autocross class at a time, and when I upgrade something to push me to the next class, try and put in everything that I can for that class. Ofcourse plans rarely work out the way they are meant to so we will see. Eventualy I would want to have a KA-T but that won't be happening before next summer. I need to do more research on suspension but I will pretty much spend as much as I need to there to get the "best". I am in no hurry (that may just be a different way to say that I'm lazy).

Why do the tops of KA's always look spotless? My Civic would never stay that damn clean.

22-28 is a good range for a KA. I got 21.9 or so for awhile, then I discovered I had a fuel leak! Turns out that the prior owner had use SAE 30R7 soft line, which when I referenced that I found that it was low pressure carb line. I am eagerly awaiting the new mileage figures.

I should get in the business of selling rear S13 hatches.

I can get them here near Washington DC really cheap. If you would like, I could scrounge one up for you here and we could meet somewhere in South Jersey like Cape May or something. I dont know where plainsboro is though.
