So this is my first post... I've been reading alot over the last week, since I bought my first 240 8 days ago--92 se very clean but its auto, 8000 miles on new motor and new transmission, so for 1300$ and 8 hours of work i love it.....
ok so onto oil leaks. Yesterday I parked at my buddies house for 2 min. and looked under my car to find a massive puddle. after looking around down there i noticed that it seemed that whomever did the oilpan gasket used both the cork and clear silicone..big no-no. so i decided id do it right... not a bad way to spend my fri. night... well lots of fun that was took 2-1/2 hours fired it back up and huge puddle again..... now im pist off...... i mean ive been wrenching on cars for over 12 years, very avid diy'er ive rebuilt motors . done swaps. auto-to-manual swaps, nothing to big right..???? now this friggin oil leak.... so i crawl under my car again, fire it up and notice my oil ascending unit is spewing oil?????????????wtf?????? never seen that one.. so i un-plug it?? and it has devolped a pin hole right above the spade terminal, i could watch the clear connector just filling....... I laughed that one off for about 30min..... Im not mad at all, hell I do know that my oilpan gasket is done right now........
so i stole my buddies ascending unit off his 00 elantra..works for now..
on sunday im going to the junkyard.. half off weekend... need to find a knock sensor, lsd,zx brakes and manual trans.. we will see
