Got offered a trade for my car, what you guys think?

General discussion forum about the 240sx, and a great place to introduce yourself to the board!

What I have:1995 Nissan 240SX- auto- 160k- no accidents- bought from original owner- pristine condition inside out- stock everything except I've got brand new Megan streets on the way- never drifted or raced

What I got offered:1993 Nissan 240SX- 5spd- 200k- fwd type wheels (garbage)- ricey front bumper- ricey spoiler- painted brakes- fart can?- paint is white but not that great- mine's sticker on the side LOL- probably been drifted and s***kicked

I'm in Canada so the drift tax is pretty high here. I've yet to actually see the car in person, but if there is no rust, I'm sure I can work on it and make it a worthy 240sx. I would have to send my coils back too.

I'm thinking his car + 4000 cash for mine.

My plans for my car is basically keep it until the KA goes, then swap in a SR + 5spd. Should I just keep my car?

I'd say just keep your car and do the 5 speed swap. Clean 240s are hard to come by even the ones that haven't been beat on are rare. When you see the car post some pics.

It's the price you pay for fanboy cars. It's really bad in most parts of Canada due to the massive amount of salt most places use here. I got my 240 at a Mazda dealer on the West Coast of Canada and they where asking $10000 for a 1992 100k miles with no rust, I ended up getting away lucky at $7000.

Anyway OP I'd probably stick with your car, auto really isn't that horrible and having a car in amazing shape beats the hell out of having almost the same car in worse condition. A 5 speed is only worth so much.

You paid $7000 for a stock s13?!

You got buttsex-ed. Even if that was the last 240 in Canada, I would have been looking for something else, like SC300 or Miata... I totally understand that Canada is more expensive, but thats insane. You paid the fanboy price for sure.

Surprisingly if he paid $7k for a clean 1992 thats not that bad. The bare minimum you can sell your 240 for around here is about 3-4grand and I'm talking like 270km on the odo cars that need a engine swap.

I think I will keep my S14 thanks to what everyone has said. The only reason I even considered the offer is yes it is a downgrade, but its 5-speed versus Autotragic and not to mention I could throw in a SR for less than $4k in the s13 (that is)

I will keep the S14, and besides I don't want to send back those shiny new coilovers :D
