I would go for it. If you got money that you can spend and still have enough to live well go for it.

I wouldn't. Parts are hard to find and it's not a Skyline GT-R

I agree dude, parts are difficult to find. I'd seriously wait or get something similar like the Mazda 3 hatchback or a Sentra SE-R, just my two cents

Win the Lotto lately? Wife is getting a house and your getting a R33? If you have money to burn then I say why not?? The R33 would be a blast and yeah I would usually say parts are hard to find, but then again so is the car itself yet you found one... Plus, could you afford a GT-R?

Well, as towards winning some money, not really. I have been an Automotive Service Technician for nearly 3 years and a backyard mechanic for 5 before that. I would work on numerous vehicles and escpecially for this one person, now he is willing to sell me his house (Completely renovated 3 years ago, and a nice house I must say) for half the market value! So that is the womans treat, and she said once we get the house, I can get my car, so I was looking into purchasing it this year some time.

The R33 I was thinking about has the RB25DET engine mated with a 5spd manual transmission, power options and aftermarket upgrades with 83,000km's. The GTR R33 doesnt come out till 1996 (2010), but I dont want to wait till then because this is my chance to get what I want, I dont know what the future holds. The GTR Model does come with the RB26DETT, HICAS, ATTESA and all the goodies, but the more parts needing replacement, the more money I got to dish out and thats IF I can find them. The R32 GTR's are usually going 2,000 to 3,000 bucks more than the R32 GTS models, so maybe when they come out I might be able either to trade in on or buy the GTR model. I mean its another 2 years before the R33 GTR is released so I definitely can afford to buy the GTR then. And then maybe even an R34 GTR in 2014. Lol, I am still keeping my Versa though, its fun as hell and I got the only one where I live and the most modified on the Island of NL. Like I said I like being different!

Depending on the price of the R33, consider an S13/S14 with a RB25 swap. Same engine in a smaller/lighter car. But is up to you.

Life is too precious and short so grab it by the balls and take it for a ride!

What exactly do you mean doesnt come out till 2010? Anyone can import these cars if they're willing to go through all the red tape to get one.

It'll be much easier and a lil cheaper to get a 240SX with an RB25 swap. It'll still be RWD and you'll still have the RB but it'll be a tad lighter and therefore, faster.

Im not getting it JUST for the engine, I am getting it because its sex on wheels to me. Nice ***, nice headlights, smooth curves, great howl and hiss and I love the shape and look of the car. Dont like R32's, but the R33's and 34's, they are so sexy!! The importers I am in contact with will not import anything unless it is registered legally, I want a RHD and fully stock, or with aftermarket add ons. But I dont want a show car or track car, I want a street car, something I can drive in the summer when I am in the mood to do a bit of road rippin'. This car is already registered here in Canada and I have to transfer ownership from the dealer so I say screw the red tape, and if I get power hungry in the future I will do a RB26DETT swap.

Oh the flux capacitor is already installed!!

But you don't really need to swap an RB26 in. The RB25 is the same engine and still has great power capabilities.

You want to make a bad decision just to say you have a "Skyline", that's your money. No one cares if you have just the Skyline. The ones that get people looking are the GT-R's, not the GTS's. How much are you paying for this thing anyway? I'm sure there are much nicer cars out there that look and handle better than a stock Skyline GTS

Ok. Red my friend, did you at all read my last posts? Well if not here are some memory refreshers:

"I am getting it because its sex on wheels to me. Nice ***, nice headlights, smooth curves, great howl and hiss and I love the shape and look of the car."

So yeah, that solves why I would be getting it.

"....its another 2 years before the R33 GTR is released so I definitely can afford to buy the GTR then. And then maybe even an R34 GTR in 2014."

And.....yeah, that solves what other models I will be getting, when they are available.

Oh, did I actually say this??
my_new_v wrote:Its the "skyline" he wants though. Anyone that wants a skyline is getting it so that they can say they own a "skyline". get what i mean?
hmmm....dont recall saying that, but it does have some truth, I will own an R33 Skyline, and yes, I think thats bragging rights, still has the RB25DET with lots of upgradeable capabilities, capabilities that other companies will pay out of their arse for, so yeah, it's ONLY a skyline that I want but when the GTR comes, I will have already been a custom to driving a RHD Skyline, meaning I should be able to control it better.

Read a bit carefully next time bud, might save you some of this hassle I just put you through...........oh, I forgot to answer some other questions.

How much am I paying, well if you dont have a Skyline, then its more than what your willing to spend, or what you make.....so I will keep that a secret, what does it matter anyway, im the one spending the cash! If you want one I will sell you one for the price of a new VERSA? Any hint's on pricing?

Didn't take more a few seconds to find one for sale on eBay...the bidding is up to about $23,000 right now.

Got this pic of what you must mean by " nice ***"

Or, I don't know, perhaps this is "Sex on Wheels"

I would recommend you to get a GTR all the way!

(R34 is way better, but you need to wait for a bit)

If you have a look around the GTS compare to the GTR, it's almost like 2 different thing....

Well.....I think you guys are awesome!! Picking up for one another, just like a family!!!! Makes me want to buy a Skyline for each and every one of you!!! Maybe I will if I win the lottery, no joking.......I will!

Anywho, I just found some disturbing facts!!! As of NOW, I will be getting the 1995 Nissan Skyline R33 GTR!! But I will have to wait until January 2010. I contacted my importer and gave him the news, and this is what he told me.

"Mark, Thanks for the heads up. As towards getting you the GTR model R33, I will get it here in Canada for January 2010. It's the R33 GTR Nissan Skyline with the RB26DETT, ATTESA-ETS AWD, Super HICAS AWS, 5Spd Standard and yes, Twin Turbo! I knew you would have liked the GTR better than the GTS, what made you change your mind? You were so eager to get one!"

Well, what changed my mind were my friends here on NICOclub, where it feels like my second home already.....

Well there it is, a 1995 R33 GTR Nissan Skyline coming one year from now (and a few weeks) guys, I appreciate the input and now you know what I will get, maybe I will save up some more money to do some upgrades, got any ideas guys or should I go with a body kit and paint job, maybe a big arse spoiler, lol, I love the Irish, ARSE ARSE ARSE, cant block this out baby but means the same as A.S.S. THANKS GUYS!!

P.S. I am definitely getting the 1998 R34 GTR Nissan Skyline as well in 2014, man, so sexy!!

You should realize that he's in Canada, any car over 15 years (I think its 15?) old is legal to import. And they are a lot cheaper up there because of it.

THATS EXACLTY RIGHT! I thought he knew I was in Canada, oh well! Yeah ANYTHING 15years or older can be imported and registered legally as if it were made in Canada. Got to love our laws!! For the States its 25 years and the FTA (Free Trade Agreement) doesnt work on vehicles 15 years or older, the vehicles have to be manufactured in Canada for the FTA to work, but the Skyline is Manufactured in Asia!

Yea, Marc, GTR all the way!!!

Pick the colour you like first, and don't worry too too much about the body kit, and so...

In Asia, They used to have a kit to pump an extra 200cc into there, or a complete re-make of a RB30DET or TT

Check out with HKS web site, they got planty of toys for GTRs, only thing is will you be that crazy to try to make the car crank out 1200-1500HP range

Before the R34 Nur spec came out, HKS actually make a set of VTEC like cam system for GTR too, and it's quite $$$ too

http://www.hks-power.co.jp/pro...html (Check out this link, this is what I am talkin about)

Hint of Sarcasm? Or it actually makes sense? Lol. If the last post I posted didnt make sense, here it is in simpler explanation.

US can import the skyline but has to be either met to specs (which Motorex screwed ) or be 25 years old.

CAN can import the skyline as long as its 15 years older or met to specs.....bringing it to specs is VERY expensive so I would rather wait until its 15 yrs old

But, US can't buy the Skyline from Canada because the vehicle was manufactured and sold in Japan therefore going against the FTA.

I went for the Autoart Skyline - runs well on the Scalextric...
