Got my sr out of the donor car (pics)

heres some pics, to me and my dad about 2-3 hours to take it out, but the car was wrecked and the motor was wedged into the firewall so we had a time with that but everything came out.

wow how much did u pay for the donor car? does it have the ash tray that goes behind the shifter? if so i'll buy it

looks like the CAS was broken off. It looks like I can see parts of the bolts still in the head from the CAS, as well as the gear drive.

Also, what's up with the extra, broken coolant neck under the one that isn't broken?

Last thing is since the motor was wedged into the firewall, double check the rear of the motor for any cracking or crushed pipes.

EDIT: I have a damned good memory. That's the motor out of S14_girl's car. I recognized the blue used on the valve cover.

Also, was the PS pump salvagable? The best photo she could get was from the passenger side of the motor and it looks like the whole fender got crushed in and hit the motor (hence the broken CAS and the water neck).

yeah the cas was broken off but i have another 1 already and the stud where the cas use to be turns fine and everything. my dad has a set of "easy outs" and he said he could get the bolts that hold the CAS on out. the waterneck is one that i bout already but i didnt know that the s13 and s14 waternecks were different so i gotta buy another one. the difference is the s14 has a coolant line that goes from the water neck to the turbo. yeah its s14_girl's old car and motor. i bought it at a salvage sale. i got the whole car for like $800 i believe. nah the PS pump is crushed all up hehe. does ne1 know if i can use a stock ps pump and hoses or if i hafta buy 1 off a sr20det?havent searched yet so ill do that now. oh yeah and all the pipes that i saw were pretty much unharmed. i have found 1 pinched wire that i gotta fix. and im going to go through the wiring and solder some of the connection that havent been soldered just to be on the safe side. oh yeah and if some1 has a waterneck for a s14 sr20det email me at [email protected] and i have posted on the classifieds but some peeps dont look there.

try http://www.sr20store.com they have extra SR parts lying around. As far as the PS pump goes, you'll have to find an SR one. The KA pump has a few mounting differences that don't work with the SR bracket, IIRC. There's a guy in town that has extra SR parts every now and again, so I'll see if he has an extra PS pump lying around. I know he had a few HICAS pumps for a whlie that he was converting to run non HICAS cars, but I think he's out of those.

As far as the waterneck goes, I can't help you on that.

I was about to say that looks like s14_girls motor because of the painted timing cover, I was looking though old threads and seen it last week.

I would change the oil pump on it just to be safe. My motor seemed like it was involved in a front end accident (broken waterneck and CAS) and it had a bad oil pump

she got T-boned on the front quarter, hence the broken CAS and water neck, and PS pump.

the guy at sr20store said he had the waterneck for $75 shipped but my dad went to the Nissan place and they gave him a japanese phone # to call and my uncles mom is japanese so she can talk on the phone to them so i may see what one would cost from Nissan Japan. And i also know a guy in England so he may be able to find one there and send it to me. I thought they had silvias in england with the sr20det some1 pelase correct me if im wrong. Man i heart Nico.

hehe i know what u mean, if i ever go to the garage to do something, ill see my sr sittin there so ill go over to it and start messing with somethin on it and 4get about what i came outside to do in the 1st place. thanks for checkin on it though.
