It figures that something else would go wrong...

I bought some used SR injectors which supposedly had about 40k miles on them and which the seller described as "perfect condition." Well, i got them, and I wasn't planning on opening them because they're supposed to be a christmas gift for me, but I just wanted to check them out..3 of them seemed in perfect shape. On the tip of all of them they have this orangish plastic cover. On one of them, the tip is severely cracked and looks like it is ready to fall off completley--I'm assuming this is a bad thing..How severe? Anyone know where I can get just ONE sr 370 cc injector?!?Here's the pic..it's kinda hard to see, but theres a line through the orange thing...that's one of the cracks.

Let me know.....

Also, no one EVER responded to my previous post as to whether or not the KA injector o-rings will fit on the SR-injectors.

ThanksMarc

Is the crack AFTER the little inner spray disk thingy? (it has little holes). If it is, I wouldn't worry about it, I'd either break it off then epoxy it back on or put a little epoxy on it as it is, or just break it off completely so it didn't fall into the engine.

O-rings are o-rings... If they fit and seal, they fit and seal. Just try em out... I actually prefer OEM Nissan injector o-rings. They work very well on my friends 2G GSX, way better than the OEM Mitsu ones, or the ones that came with his PTE 680s...

you can replace those, they come with a seal kit that you buy.

Thanks for the good info, Yozsi...

Where can you get this "seal kit," and how much does it cost, websites? prices? If it's $20 i'm going to be pissed...And how, if the plastic ring is intact, are you supposed to remove them if your replacing them on the other injectors? Thanks

ka o-rings will work jsut fine since ka and sr injectors are the same except for the cc's. z32's have the same injectors as sr's go to the deal maybe and ge tthem to pull the diagram up on their comp to see if there is a part number for jsut the cap. or maybe get one out of a junkyard

A junkyard's not an option for me.

So SR/Z32/KA injectors are identical except for the flow capacity?!? I never knew that...but if they are, maybe I'll try going there and seeing if they sell the "seal kits" for the z32 ones...

you can probably get tehe seal kits at a nissan dealer for a resonable price, or a napa auto parts store that carries the beck arnley line.

Richard,Did the kit include the plastic-orange ring I'm talking about?!? Or just the 2 o-rings per injector?

I wish it weren't sunday, i'd go to Nissan and check. (I shoulda gone yesterday, oh well).

Umm, RAP, stop trying to Hijack this thread, it is not allowed... Go start your own tread on the subject if you really want to know about them.

Richard A Parr wrote:Mark I posted my info on the injectors for infomational purposeshoping for some feed back on the company selling these so-calledreman or re-conditioned injectors. Just wondering if anyone had experience with this company that sells these injectors.

The prices are fantastic at 100.00 for a set of four. Almost too good to be true. Well I'll find out very soon if reman injectors are worth the effort

I did in fact order a set of four injectors for a 1989 240 SOHC and I am told they will be arriving Monday 22 Dec. via Fed Ex COD.

You can call the phone number I provided above and ask the responder what ever concerns your problem. You can also access the website provided but you must call to order.

That's about all I can tell you for now. After tomorrow, if all go as planned, I'll have more to relate.

See ya. RAP

;)

You little post-whore!

But you said you bought the seal kit--that was factual, correct? Did they just come with o-rings or the plastic tip too?$135 SHIPPED for reman/refurb injectors sounds nice.

Well, just got back from the nissan dealership; they said I can't buy the cracked plastic tip by itself; they said I'd have to buy the whole injector, and they said there was no seal-kit.

Damn, I can't stand unknowledgeable parts people. you'd think doing what they have to do for a living they'd know wtf they're talking about.

Looks like I'll have to buy a whole new injector, unless someone else can show me WHERE TO GET THIS SO-CALLED SEAL KIT!

Yes you have. You have yet to give any help or incite to the topic at hand... What was the point of saying you got a seal kit if it wasn't for a Nissan injector? There is no seal kit for Nissan injectors. As for everything else in your posts, you need to seriously go start your own thread and stop hijacking this one. Sorry man but a mods attention will have to be obtained...

The plastic is just on there as a spacer more or less. It is not glued or adhered with anything. It's just kind of pushed on there. You have two options; Buy a new/used injector, or fix it yourself. There is no seal kit.. Sorry... RAP just did a poor job at hijacking your thread with useless information.:rolleyes
