Went over to phoenix performance this last wednesday, great shop. They race-prep C6 corvettes and Cadillac CTS's and such for SCCA national racing, and their cars win ALOT. So I figured this would be a good place to get my car aligned for autocross, along with doing the corner weights and fixing my front wheel wells so they stop eating my tires under hard cornering.

Anyways....

Total weight: 2558Weight with driver: 2733 (+175)

Weight savings:-Aluminum block (SR)-Aluminum flywheel-Aluminum driveshaft-Silvia front end-Carbon Fiber hood-Silvia Bumper support-Removed rear seat-Removed rear seatbelts-Removed trunk interior-Removed spare tire-Half sized battery

Other weight factors-Full AC system-Half tank of gas-All sound deadening still present-Full Stock interior (besides the previously mentioned)-Still have power steering-Stereo still present (headunit, 4 speakers and power antenna)

My goal is 2400 pounds, which is street modified class minimum weight for RWD, sub 3 liter forced induction cars.

Im fairly sure minimum weight is w/o driver (alot of national cars run with more than one driver). Washer fluid tank is still in there

Also what about gas?Weigh in with full tank or half? hmm once you eliminate A/C you get rid of weight of sytem and pulley weight and load is taken off engine so you get more power.Just replace all your glass with plexi-glass and you'll be close.

Half tank of gas. I dont think I'm allowed to use plexiglass, street-mod is supposed to be a "streetable car" class. Have to keep my interior and unibody intact for the most part.

A/C is defentaly comming off, especally since the compressor rattled itself loose, hanging by one bolt now (belt is off).

so you need to loose another 158lb

the washer fluid tank, lines and pump are like - 10lbA/C - 60lbDapmaning material is a pain in the rear to remove but should save like 30-40

That 110lb right there.

Still got the stock seats?Need the carpet?Although pain in the *** to replace after the event. Get rid of your visor if it comes down to it...lol.Cut your roof and make it a t-top.Be like whta they made the 240 as a t-top just like they did the 300z 2+2.I'm thinking about doing that but all my cars already have sunroofs so I could maybe do the whole thing?Be like fast and the furious just let it fly off going down the freeway.

no way would the washer fluid system weigh 10lbs. I took everything out and it seemed less than 5lbs. maybe 10 if it was full of fluid...
