I want to thank everyone in the forum for all the help as I got my rb25 to start today. I am having a strange problem though.... after I started the car and turned it off i removed the key and noticed the ebrake and door lights staying on... i discovered i can take one of the battery cables off and the problem fixes itself until i click the car over to the ON position... it doesnt do this in the ACC position... has anyone had problems with this during their s13 swap? My car is a 1990 hatch if it helps.

huge congrats, i bet its a badass car now. Sorry i can't help with your problem, sounds like some kind of electrical relay. Like perhaps hte sensors arent realizing hte doors are closed and such

this is gonna sound really weird...

remove the low fuel light from the gauge cluster.

i know of 2 rb's that have had weird electrical problems where stuff stays on after the key is out. both times the low fuel light has been the problem. something with it being a junction for **** on the s13, i have no idea. mine didnt do this lol just repeating what was told to me.

if it dosent fix it, ill hit my friend in the back of the head who told me this. (guy who wrote the 8 steps hehe)

the door light still goes out when i close the door but some how power is getting into the system.. like a relay isnt closing some how when i turn the car off... i spoke to someone on the phone and grounding was mentioned... but i really wouldnt know where to start trying to ground things better...

I had that same problem. For the brake light I just removed the bulb. I am not sure about the door light though. My low fuel light has never worked to begin with so no problems with that. Either way, I didn't think I needed those lights so I just unplugged them. I just made sure that my engine light is hooked up. Pretty much all I cared about.

I got power from those wires BTW for my AF meter and boost gauge so I thought I messed it up or something. I guess it is a common problem.

I had the same problem with mine, I just wired a switch into the gauge cluster circuit and whenever I shut the car down, I cycled the switch....problem solved(kinda) I sold the car before I worked the problem out though.

Save a couple of ounces and remove the bulbs. Unless if you want to see a red flash of light when you're drifting of course.

Sorry, I am just so bored at work.

no no no, the light itself isnt the problem its the WIRING on the cluster. nissan used the low fuel light for a junction for a bunch of ****. if you remove that light all your other ones will go off when you remove the key

just try it and trust me.

Yeah but like I said, I didn't care about the rest of the warning lights. All I cared about is the engine light. And also the seat belt light works but I don't care about that either.
