I kept cranking it but she wouldnt start. I tested for spark and it had spark. So I decided to put some gas in the intake manifold. That got it to start and it ran nice. It didn't turn off on it's own I let it run for a bit. I tried turning it on again but it was back to the same problem. If it stays on when I put some gas into the IM why doesnt it turn on when I just crank it.

It cant be the injectors because it stays on and idles fine. I don't think it could be the fuel pump because again, it idles it must be getting a constant flow of gas.

Let me know what you guys think.

PS I'm not a mechanic by trade I work in the construction field. So please no flaming. I come here as a last resort when I can't figure something out thanks guys

check for swapped fuel lines. The feed goes to the back of the rail. Very simple issue that most people run into. Also, check your voltages at your injectors and coil packs. get back to us when your done.

injectors and coils are getting enough power. I switched the lines but the motor wouldn't start at all. I switched them back and it started after putting fuel into the IM.

I think it may be a fuel pressure problem. How common is it for the stock fpr to go bad ?

I'm using the stock Fuel pump even though I know it is SUGGESTED to upgrade. Could it be my fuel pump just isn't cutting it due to it's age ?

The fuel rail is getting plenty of fuel but from what I have read on other forums is that if the fuel pressure is not high enough the injectors won't open ?

is the start signal wire hooked up. This allows more fuel when cranking the engine.
