I got my AP engineering RB20det powerFC from Japan this week, and I finally got a second to pull out my old SAFC and install the PFC.. MAN THIS THING RULES!!

I haven't had much time to play with it at all, I just got it installed and took it for a quick burn. It's got some really cool features, you can select a Z32 MAF or a Q45 MAF from a menu in the settings section, as well as altering idle settings for different load conditions. There's a million and one things you can do with this baby :D

I was having some problems with my idle on my RB, it was idling around 1150-1300 RPM with the GTS-4 ECU I was running, and the PFC has completely cleared that up. The car idles beautifully now and doesn't pop on decel or really have any driveability issues at all. I'm really happy!

I'll keep you all updated as I get used to it and do a little hunting thru the menus. I also thought I'd start this thread in case someone does a search on the rb20det powerfc..:ylsuper

So I take it you have the stock High impedance injectors? or did you have to run the low impedance injectors? Who did you buy it from? Greenline?

yep, stock high impedance injectors. I bought it off of ebay.

I was a little concerned that I needed low impedance injectors (I have a set anyway, but I'm not ready to put them in yet) but the guys at skylinesaustralia.com say that the PFC is meant for stock injectors. Guys with Rb20 PFC's are running resistor packs with GTR injectors.

DO YOU KNOW WHAT SENSORS RAEN'T USED WITH THE POWERFC? AND DOES THE POWERFC CONTAIN ANY BOOST CONTROLS?

Don't want to sound stupid, but it's in english right? Can you change the setting of injectors to high impedence?

I'm not sure what sensors aren't used with it.. I'll try to find out as I learn more. The PFC does not control boost on the RB20 as there is no solenoid. There is an optional boost controller kit that will let you control boost but it's a pretty expensive add-on. I might try to track one down used.

All the menus are in english, and if you've ever used an SAFC you'll be just fine!! It's pretty intuitive.

THANKS KEVIE! THATS ALL I NEEDED TO KNOW... AND KEEP ME UPDATED IF YOU EVER FIND OUT ABOUT THE SENSORS. OHH ONE OTHER QUESTION IS: DOES THE PFC USE SEQUENTIAL OR BATCH FIRE? IF IT USES SEQUENTIAL FIRE ONT HE RB20 I'LL PROBABLY GO WITH IT OTHER WISE I WOULD GO WITH THE MIRCOTECH LT-8. MAYBE SAVE ALITTLE MORE AND GO WITH THE LTX-12 AND THE SPLIT FIRE IGNITION SYSTEM.

That's a good question too! I should try to find that out..

I can't believe how much better the car runs now, it's waaay better on gas too.

Very cool. So the PFC is plug-n-play? And you didn't have to do any tuning?

I assume this is in the $1k range?

Yes plug in and play.

Yes you have to tune it but it might come with a ok base map... yeah right might have to tweek it as lil.

Yes in the 1k range without the commander.
