$735 - AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHH

Well at least next year it will ONLY be about $550

This is another good reason not to buy a new car!

why so much... IN FLA you pay like 150 for plate and then 36 for the sticker for the year!

I think this is crazy. Unless you included taxes

Don't feel so bad Ray... I just got mine this last week and paid $525, but I got personalized plate (GEE 35) so it cost me an extra $25. It'll go down in due time... sucks paying that much though...

In Colorado you pay an ownership tax every year. It is based on the purchase price and goes down a sliding scale every year that you own it. The plates were about $40 and the rest was ownership taxes. Next year the plates will be another $40 but due to depreciation the ownership taxes will go to about $500.

It is total BS. You are basically paying taxes for a car you already own (and already paid taxes for) every year.

The plates for my wifes tahoe when new were $900 now, 3 years later they are just under $500.

Taxes were not included.

Arizona G, is Arizona set up the same way or is it a one time fee and a small renewal every year? Seems like most east coast states have the one time ownership tax and then a yearly renewal.

no way around it

That is disturbing. My registration for a year with Personalized plates was $102. It costs $50 for the personalized plates.

In December when it's time to renew, they'll be $52. Our vehicles are registered at $35 a year, then taxed for their weight. Heavier you are, the more it costs.
