Hey all,

I got my parts put on this weekend. JWT Pop Charger/Z-tube, Plenum Spacer, and MREV. Even better, at the last minute I decided to dyno before and after, because I was nervous and skeptical about how much of a difference it would make. Let me tell you, it is AWESOME! I can feel the difference in the car, plus the engine sounds like a roar now, not a whine. The dyno confirmed a gain of 10hp at peak, and 20hp across much of the mid rpms.

I'll try to post some pics of the parts and the dyno graph, but let me just share this: I'm hooked on mods to my car! Maybe I need a second job now . . .

Wicked kewl!

Just think...slap an exhaust on it next and you'll REALLY feel the mods because you will unlock their full potential.

Awesome!!! G_whizz is right also. I noticed a big difference with the exhaust, since I had done a lot prior to it.

Tuning is addictive, My car is in the shop right now, Give some props to Beancooker for installing the Greddy EVO 2 himself...

I gave up at 3:30am last night, wanting to pull my hair out, trying to install the bolt on catback setup...

I'll have new pics and youtube clips to show off later!!!!

Please post the Dyno of the parts...not many people have done it with just a few intake mods! I'll hook you up with a custom title if you create a post with pics and a small write up...

Well done! Wait until the parts you just installed break-in after a few weeks, you will be producing a little more than 10 bhp, especialy if the temperature and humidity is right. In addition, if you start using synthetic oil if you are not using it now, you should see some improvement in gas mileage. Also, now that you have the mods, there is a tendency for you to go WOT all the time. Control your legs and your desire from here on. Trust me, the sound of the engine is so sweet, and thus, cause for you to want to go fast.

Hey folks. Finally got the info together on my parts from last weekend.

I purchased the JWT Pop Charger w/ Z-tube and heat shield, the 5/16” Plenum Spacer, and MREV2. My 2006 G35 Coupe 6MT was stock before this. Since I’m a lazy middle-aged man, I did not do the install myself, I had the guys at a great racing/tuner shop install for me (if you’re in Dallas and need a recommendation, hit me up – they were great).

Since this was my first mod to a car ever, I was a bit nervous/skeptical about how much good bolt-on stuff would actually do, so at the last second I asked them to Dyno it before and after, and here is the info (see attached pics).

Peak HP was at 233HP baseline, and went up to 243HP after the parts. Not bad, but even cooler is that it gained 15-25HP across much of the mid RPM range. Just look at 4.5k RPM, HP upped from about 176 to 200. And at 5.5k RPM, it upped from 218 HP to 239 HP! I guess as a generalization, I would say I gained 20HP at the wheels from this little project. You can definitely feel the power difference at WOT, and the engine noise is a much deeper roar now than before the parts. I also feel like the throttle response is a bit quicker.

Two thumbs up on these mods!!!

I’m a newbie to this stuff, so feel free to look over the graphs and make corrections/observations.

Next piggy-bank project: exhaust!

Great job!!!

I'm a little surprised at how low the baseline was. Most of the second gen dynos that I've seen peak around 240-245 stock.

Interesting to hear. The guys at the shop made a big deal about how much higher than normal the baseline was for a G35. Although I don't know if they considered year of engine, etc. Too bad you can't know the actual hp of your car BEFORE you buy it.
