Got my New Apex PowerFC..not working

I just got my new Apex power FC for my RB25DET and when I pluged it in nothing is happening. Won't start, no check engine light, and camander won't lightup. WTF!! Help!

same thing happened with my SR fc turned out i fried the coil pack no clue why but i did

The car runs fine with the stock ECU in so I know the coilpacks are ok.

that really really sucks! And unless you have proof showing you bought it through apexi usa, they will not warranty nor offer an exchange. I've been there oh too many times when customers buy stuff cheaper going direct through japan, australia, etc. and understandably get very upset. Maybe you got the d-jetro. . .but wait . .it would atleast power up. ..sorry, best bet is to contact the person/company you purchased it from.

Did you get a commander? You might have to play with it to get to work if there are no maps.

come on yellow i know your better than that ;) lol

this might sound stupid but you sure you checked to make sure its plugged in 100% right? Try unplugging it and plugging it back in if you haven't already. I read about these guys getting a power fc and it not starting the car (rb26dett skyline) at first because it was set to work with an apexi boost controller and it wouldn't even allow the engine to start without it. So they had to set it to non boost control, but if you can't even get the commander lit up then theres no way you could even find out of thats your problem...

That sounds like what the problem migt be tho. If it's setup for that gay boost controler it won't even work.

The unit is totally unresonsive. I tried to make sure the ECU's metal housing was grounded and it is. The problem has to be a defective ECU. The seller I got it from said he would take care of sending to Apexi to see what the problem is. I really want to know what is wrong with it. Hopefully it's just a 1 in 1 million flaw.

Did you check the PFC #? see if it's for the RB25?

Yes. There is only on PFC listed for the RB25DET. Expecpt for the 98+ Neo's

Let me guess.. it also wasn't from an authorised dealer?

We're authorised by the factory in Japan to sell them.. if there is a prob, we have full factory backed warrantee to lean on.There arn't that many authorised Apexi dealers around either..

Buy it from someone else who isn't and thats the risk you take.

BTW, what was the price you paid?

GTR shop: I bought my Apexi Power FC/ Commander from Christian of Japanese Import Parts in AU. Is he an authorized dealer?

1045 Shipped With comander. It's on it's way be since I found the a problem with my wiring. I was missing the pin # 58 battery supplie. The stock ECU works without It but I am sure the PFC needs that to power up.

Pin #58 battery supply....as in there was no wire coming from the pin 58 slot? Where's it supposed to go to? I hope my PFC doesn't have the same problem.

the White.black wire in Pin # 58 should be hooked up to battery power. It goes through the big white dash plug on the R33 harness

Ok. Gotcha. I'll have to look out for this. Post back when you get your PFC back in the mail and hook it up.

I can tell you since I hooked the wire up my ECU is able to learn it's fuel/timing maps. I see boost 500 RPM's sooner (4200 instead of 4800) I wonder how the car would have ran with the stock turbo with that wire hooked up?

Hmmm thats the same pin for the RB20 too. I'll have to check later this weekend to see if it's hooked up. Where did you hook yours up too IMissmyTurbo?
