well i finally got my engine...came with no MAF and no ECU..called up ripping them up and down and got a 250.00 refund..(yeah in know not a big refund but refund none the less.)anyways...i am going to go Apexi power FC and just wanted to hear from the people who have theses how well they are working out for you. also the turbo on the engine isnt in the greatest shape so i am going to slap on a turbo that i took off my SR te see how that one will work out..its a garrett 60-1, and before and of you say it i am getting larger injectors right off the bat just to be on the safe side. i am going to going with a set of 650's or perhaps higher..my only hope is the head gasket will let me have a littel fun with this before letting go. i wouldnt mind jumping into a metal head gasket but i have to say my fund are running out quickly after having to dish out even more money to get this runnig safely without signifigant failure. would love to hear anyones thoughts on this

The headgasket should hold around 400-500ish i've seen it done before same with the internals. Just keep good AFR's and get a good tune. I cant tell you about the NEO but i know that they're about the same minus a few different electronic components ont he motor and head.

The power fc is a good choice. Nice way to make sure all sensors are working properly. Also I would change the injectors after everything is confirmed to be working correctly

yeah thats good news....i know that they arent exactly the same internally however, due to the fact they come packing with GTR rods, very nice pistons(according to the UK forums), and from the factory solid lifters..one of my main concerns was the head gasket...i havent looked into the strength of that as of yet..but i did manage to get my fingers on a corner of it in the back of the head...that sucker is thick and HARD

Congrats man!

I have been running my NEO rb25det for over a year now! I dont daily drive it its my weekend/track car.

I was lucky when I got my engine I knew its history it had 7k klm thats around 6k miles! I have only put another 2k miles on it!

The Maf's are unique to the R34 NEO Rb25det, they have a pink label and a special code on them... I know I had to replace mine.... They are VERY VERY VERY VERY RARE to find, I happened to find my extra one before I even needed it and got it from japan. But if you order a PowerFC from a Power Excel dealer in Japan you can have them make it D-Jetro which is THE WAY TO GO! I am thinking about selling mine and ordering another one from Japan so I can go D-Jetro.

I run a Power FC, it is a nice system but hard to find good tuners or tuners with the FC Datalogit or Power Excel dealer to tune it instead of the commander.

The only big issue with the NEO would be lack of aftermarket support example the Greddy intake manifold doesnt work and its not clear ANYWHERE why. You will also want to get rid of the traction control butterfly and motor. If you are running a Neo trans then you know that its different it uses a different style clutch and the shift lever is unique to it.

Best features are the GTR rods, and some of the other rumored engine internals & the Non-Ceramic BB turbo. The transmission is also rumored to be MUCH beefier.

Good luck with the engine if you need any help just ask! Like I said before I may be changing Power Fc's if your interested pm me, I will also possibly be upgrading my perfect turbo too.
