Im running 8psi with a 12:1 fmu right now. Stock fuel system. The car seems fine and the exhaust temp it where its supposed to be (I mix 5gal of 110octane in my tank every fill up). Do I have to have an upgraded fuel pump? If so, will my old cosmo pump off my supra work? It looks about the same as a walbro and alot of supra owners use this instead of the walbro. Also how long is the break in time on a new clutch?

new clutch break in is areound 500 miles if i recall... as for the supra fuel pump, do a search, i seem to recall someone else running one. Anything is better than the stock pump though. hopefully rseabrook will chime in, i think he couldnt get his fuel pressure above ~55psi with the stock pump and a 12:1 fmu. he had to get a walbro.

I am running a FMU 12:1 and a walbro 255 fuel pump and running a Turbosx mbc 10 psi! I plan on raising the boost to 12 psi using the same FMU.

wow thats awsome. I had no idea the stock injectors would hold over 8psi. Ive got the boostdesigns kit as well. Was your kit as hard as mine to put on? I had to fabricate two intercooler pipes and the exhaust pipe from the downpipe to the cat. It took about three days to get it going and get my new motor in. How does your car run?

you should know, in-tank fuel pumps, even the "hp" model, can't deliever necessary flow at high pressures like youre asking it to. look at their own flow vs. pressure chart for proof. if you're running a fmu, which btw, is the worst type of fuel managment (if you dont believe me go dyno with afr and watch your motor lean out anywhere close to peak tq, and go pig rich there after until redline), at least have an inline to go with it. imo, no fuel system should see more than 60psi. youre running it at 120psi @ full boost. something will fail

I run 5gal of 110octane in my tank on every fillup. My wideband never shows lean. It does get rich occasionally. I didnt think it was a problem. Pj from boostdesigns says he ran this setup for over a year with no problems.

Just so we can get the info out there, the fuel side is only half the tuning fella's. You can run solid fuel lines and 200 psi fuel pressure, but once you go over 8 psi I'd suggest retarding the base timing or using the MSD BTM. Basically anything to make sure you don't detonate.

Or you can use alcohol on high boost, I'm a huge fan of alky injection.

Any fuel pump you can wire in will work, I even had a BBK tie strapped in a Skyline for awhile. Worked like a champ.

so basically what youre saying is that I should be fine if I dont run over 8psi. Right?

That is the general number I would use for safety. After 8 psi I'd start retarding the timing about .5 per lb of boost, or retard the base timing 1-2 degree's.
