I was so happy to get home to see them and I just opened the package and they (all 4 halos are broken).

They box looks like it was ran over by a forklift.

It came wraped in this USPS plastic with a message on it saying "The enclosed was found loose in the mail, unsealed, or has been damaged in handling in the postal service (wheichever is applicable to the enclosure).

When a post office handles in excess of five million pieces of mail daily, it is imperatice that mechanical methods will be used to maintain productiong and ensure timely delivery of the mail. Damage, however, may occure if mail is not sealed properly or bulky contents are enclosed. The faulty envelope may jam our machinery, causing damage to the faulty envelope and other propertly prepared mail as well.

What do you think this means.. Are they responsible for the damage?

If the sender didn't insure it, it's probably going to be a grim outcome.

WOW. I feel really bad for pointing you to that ebay link now. My bad. I'd contact ebay. They may be able to force the seller to fix this, if it was their fault for poor packaging.

absolutely.. contact the seller and if they don't make it right, file a paypal dispute.. I've been nailed before as a seller for poor packaging, even when my packaging was fine... Ebay is very buyer friendly, as long as you used paypal.

This might be another reason to use a good credit card for these type of purchases. At least that gives you one more avenue to pursue for satisfaction if you have a problem.

Never buy anything without using a credit card. Never use a debit card or pay by check or cash. No protection whatsoever

I think the Visa/MasterCard Check Cards (glorified debit cards) have the same or similar dispute protection.

Sorry about your halos Tampa.

Very interesting information. I have a checkcard with my picture on it. I also use online banking to track everything and I've been pretty fortunate, thank God.

My bank is pretty good about returning the disputed money within 48 hours.

Thanks for the info Telco. Got any info on stealing from the phone company? lol

I've worked a 'deal' out with 'them'. I don't know if they want me discussing it publicly, but it will work out well in the end. You'll see, eventually...

Will do.

On another note. Those halo's you got Tampa. From the pictures, they look a little 'simple', like clear tubes. If so, they're going to be very fragile.
