Whoot... got my clip... clean as all hell... half the **** on it looked like it had just been installed, it even had a GReddy oil filter!?! Has 95xxx km on it, or it was like 59k miles. Had HUGE issues with the shipping company, but in the end got $100 knocked off the bill for their incompetence... but anyway, my brother might post some photos if he's still awake. I'll post more info later. Had it 24 hours and I already have it almost completely stripped! lol... Anyway, I'm beat... night.

the shipmentwow was that fun to offload

complete rear subframe and vlsd

so rediculously clean. Everything looks almost new, from the hoses to the wiring harness, to the engine itself.

dash only has one or 2 marks on it.

me hard at work

actually working

heh. something's missing

Jon looking at what we'd accomplished tonight

the warzone that was once his garage

found this while taking apart the dash. any thoughts on what it is?

anyone want a good running VG30ET? only $350 w/ a good working T3 turbo and new alternator. Also have a good amount of other Z31 parts to sell to help fund my project.

That picture with the Japanese writing is a parking "ticket" Its like the thing you would pull out if you were to park in a pay-parking garage. It says:

Reciept (yen)500

which is about $4.50

Wow.. that is clean! Very clean! Looks like a great clip... looked to only have a couple of minor mods eh? Thats awesome.. who'd you get that through again? I think full clip is the only way to go.. IMHO you gotta pull two motors but you are sure you have everything down the last bolt (well mostly ;)...) very clean man.. very clean.

Good luck on selling the Z stuff.... I parted a 85 NA awhile back and had better luck selling the stuff on Ebay than I did on the forums.. weird.

Oh.. btw.. CLEAN UP YOUR GARAGE! LOL..

Came from a company called RS Imports... They sell a number of clips on ebay... but don't get CA18DETs very often... took forever for them to ship it, then the company fuggered it up, but ended up saving me $100 on shipping. Was supposed to be $719.39... then it was "inspected" randomly to check weight, and it was 1685lbs, rather than the 1500 they'd shipped it at... so they wanted $832.xx before liftgate & residential delivery fee. I got that worked out and they stuck to the $719.39, but then they were supposed to delivere it from 5-6pm Friday night... well at 6:05 pm I called to ask where my truck was...

Their reply:"Oh, well we had it loaded at the nose of the trailer and after getting it on realized we had NO way of getting it off the truck at a residence, our liftgate won't accomidate the pallet".

I'm thinking, did you not LOOK at it when you loaded it? It came on like a 6x8 ft PALLET for Christ's sake... argh. So I called a buddy last minute that worked for a construction type company and he got his work truck and work trailer and we ran over and got it... it was "interesting" getting it off the trailer to say the least... But they knocked shipping down to only $619.39. Not too bad, considering it was shipped from one extreme side of the country to the other... ^_^

You could hear my nosy neighbor across the street on the phone with his buddy "Now he's got a friggin' half a car in the garage!?!?!" lol... I've got like 6 & 1/2 cars at my house now... I own all but one. They're all presentable... but the neighbors are constantly nosy. All my crap is in the garage... as shown in the photos... lol. Anyway, I might post a few of my own shots later...

some pictures from today

completely stripped, except for the front bumper support, which looks rather thin and meager.

there was dirt on it... but still not much.

incase you wondered the size of the SMIC. It's longer and taller than one of a z32's intercoolers.

the IC and ductwork for a JDM pignose.

hard to tell from looking at the motor that it had that many kilometers.

bare firewall from a 180sx

left side behind the dash

right side behind the dash

Chris, a.k.a. fstcaz taken apart the dash...

Chris' wrecked '86 Turbo Z's hood... it was taking up too much room on the ground.

Rear subframe.

Anyway, I'm going to take the trans off tomorrow and check the clutch & flywheel. Its got a GReddy Oil Filter on it... I'll get a shot of that tomorrow too (I didn't know they made oil filters). Intake was Blitz, it had some FET Turbo Timer w/ a pressure sensor... Otherwise stock as far as I can see... ^_^ But we'll see when I take it apart to do the timing belt and all. It looked so clean, I highly doubt there has ever been any maintanence done on it. But we'll see.

I think it has ~155k or so. He bought it with 130k about 2 years ago I think... engine still ran good. Just normal stuff (cold lifter tick, etc). Turbo was still perfect condition on the engine. I'll let Chris answer, its his engine...

hey, notice you still have the radio that came in the car...does it have the little connector thingy that goes from the antenna line to the radio? mine was stolen w/ my old stereo and ive not been able to find one.. ive just got a bare wire thingy and it is annoying as hell only being able to listen to cds. i think it goes from the little one wire thingy to a plug? not sure...maybe i need some kenwood specific thing. i could tell ya if you had a picture..

anyway, looks like you got a great deal with that clip..mine wasnt that clean and it had one third the kilometers on it. mine also had some "issues"..anyway..good luck with it, hope it all works out well. we need more pictures! haha

I found a wire plug with two prongs sticking out of it... I thought it might have been the antenna plug... you'll have to ask Chris (fstcaz) if he took it out and with him or not...

Those photos were intense:D ! Very nice clip, very nicely posted, get a new or refreshed turbo before installing, and enjoy what you spent your money on.

I've got a T3/04 kit with manifold & brand new turbo, OS Giken Twin Disc Clutch, and SDS Standalone on the way for my engine... All coming from Ray... Thanks man...

That's also why the wiring harness is missing from the engine... it was taken off and removed very carefully as it was in near mint condition and it will be going to my brother brother Chris (fstcaz) for his CA18DET conversion. He's lucky I'm doing one as well... as all the parts that were busted/iffy on his engine set I've got spares of as I won't be using them with my setup... lucky bastard. And the Turbo on this engine is perfect... no play, spins freely... the one on his motor was iffy, with play. But I think we'll be putting this turbo on my 200sx, and putting the T28 from it on his CA18DET... ^_^
