so if you have been on this forum awhile u probablly seen me whoring about my car not starting. well i finally had some time to work on it a little last night and got it running again. it was the CAS out of alignment because the alignment rod or whatever you call it on the end of the exhaust cam broke off when my CAS first got messed up.

the car starts but runs a lot rougher than it used to and the idle went from 850 before and now its like at 1150-1200. actually misfiring too. it used to run perfect. im pretty sure base timing is 15*. when i turn the cas and read the timing from my pfc, it only goes from 14*- 20*. is that normal? when i set it on 15, it runs worse, and misfires even more. right now i have it set to 20* and it still has a miss. but i set timing going off my pfc hand commmander reading. a friend is has my timing light right now. i switched the spark plugs out again too.

i think when i first put it on, i had it 180* out or close to it because i had the loudest mis ive heard for a LONG time, like a gunshot could that have ****ed something up? im assuming it would start if the cas was off 1 or 2 teeth, so im going to double check and try to make sure its on perfect.another thing im going to check is if the powerfc is still on the same map that it was before. becaues i had it unplugged for most of the time the car has been down. sorry for the long post, but wanted to give all the info i can so if anyone has any ideas to help. let me know.

You have it off a little bit still....

Pull the CAS back out and physically observe where the index key broke off, and use that for judgement on how to get it back in the right position.

You should not worry about setting the timing within the PFC until its right mechanically.

You'll also want to get that timing light back first

Think of it this way....

If you have the CAS in its correct placement, and adjusted in the middle, you should be at 15......which gives you 15 +/- (0-30)

If its off a little bit mechanically you arent going to have the correct sweep
