Finally finished my conversion after having it off the road for a few years!

I picked up a motor for 800 bucks NZ with only 27,000kms and put that in so I can have some fun while I finish sorting out the cams for the stroker motor.

Here's how the custom sump turned out, takes 8.2 litres to fill to the high mark on the dipstick:

Good stuff bro! :chuckle:

And please tell me how you went about making those extractors? How do you work out the lengths accurately? I'm thinking of redoing mine, there are a few crap welds and a few exhaust leaks. I have to pull the motor to get them off so might as well redo them.

A lot of measuring, planning, and calculating, like this:

I was just curious as to how close to equal the runners were and how you routed them.

They look good.

Yeah it's the s*** toyota gearbox. I really wish I'd used something better now. At the time, the internet was rife with people posting their opinions that "rah they're good for 500HP" etc. Maybe they are when behind s*** 4 cylinders or something that produce basically no torque... but my mate shredded the same type of gearbox behind his 5 litre Holden V8 with not much over 300HP, and he wasn't even abusing it, just accelerating in 3rd with slicks!

Anyway, I imagine it's going to die a hideous death at some stage.

The exhaust runners are pretty damn close to equal... I'd say I've kept any error to within 10mm difference. :bigthumb:

I took ages making the extractors. It was such a s*** job I kept losing motivation and putting it off... ended up taking a year to get them done, using only a handheld 4" disc grinder & a round file. Basically I routed the first & longest runner leaving as much clearance as possible for the others, then made the others to fit, but also made sure I was using enough pieces to get the required lengths. (That's where the whiteboard came in handy!)

Many hours were spent lying under the car visualising the required routing to get the necessary lengths.

I am not keen to ever make another set of extractors, from now on everything is going to be turbocharged to make it simpler. :gapteeth:
