I have a few problems though...

My car shows that is is way overheating... I did the research and saw that I need to swap out the temp sensor unit with my ka and it will do the trick?? am I correct in that matter or should I check a few things just to see if that is the problem??

another is that it drives fine but when I am coasting, sometimes when I try to press the gas, nothins happenes for a few seconds and then the engine and turbo kicks in... The turbo spools up fine.. I can hear it just fine... off the line it is not that great but once I hit full spool... it takes off...

the shop I got my car done is RPM Motorworks... they took 2 and a half months and it is still not quite "done"

I am going to have to take it in since I know after searching and reading about the heater issues, they have the heater hoses reversed...

they also cracked my body kit and tried to tell me that it was already there... luckily I have a picture that I took of my car while it was there and it has a little bit of the kit on it... so I'm str8 on that.. they better pay to get it fixed or else I will be getting a lawyer...

there are also numerous scratches on the trunk and hood that I KNOW was NOT there... they said they would fix those...

I dunno.. I am not satisfied with the shop at all... I still have to get my heater working since it does not blow hot air at all..

on top of it all, my sepometer does not work as well..

it's been a hell of a 2 and a half month ride with this shop...

I hope everything goes well and I don't want to keep taking my car back to the same damn place every other day!!

I knwo they they don't want me going there everyday and I don't fancy going their either...

sorry.. but I am just venting... I haven't for the past 2 months but it's about time...

so if you guys have any pointers for me, please feel free to give me advise.. I am a noob when it comes to SR.. I have done my research but I can always learn more...

Your heater hoses being crossed will make it overheat. So get that fixed.

IF you got the S13 SR then swap the t-stat for a S14 one...although the S13 ones fits it will often read that its over heating...

Take a picture of your heater hoses, we can tell right away if they are hooked up right.

What do you mean nothing happens for a few seconds?

The throttle is cable pulled, so as soon as you press the peddle, it cracks the throttle plate and starts sucking in more fuel.

Does your engine rev when you press the throttle?

Generally when you're coasting, the car is slowing down and there's no reason to be using gas. I'm sure you know that though. :)

Until your turbo is spooled, you only have 2.0 liters of displacement. So up until ~3000RPM, there's not much torque.

Sorry to hear about your problems with the shop. I went to a reputible mechanic, and they're still fine tuning the thing. Getting a turbo properly dialed in is a task.

I notice that you're located in a Costa Mesa. That's where the shop that I take my car to is located. If you run into too many problems, and need a reference to a good turbo tuner, I can hook you up.

Definitely try to fix it yourself first though. The guy isn't exactly cheap. Sometimes it's worth it to pay the extra cash, to know that it's going to be done well the first time. ;)

yea,.. the problem is quite different than what I explained... it's tough to put it in words.. you just have to drive it and see... it's pretty much like the car is loosing power while coasting and it's actually not just while coasting, it's in every gear... dunno.. it's weird.. it's kind of like myb engine is mis firing or something. It's back fired a few times as well..

I know it takes a while to tune it but it took them 10 weeks do get the car to me all the while giving me the run around..

Not once did they call me. I had to keep calling them and keep calling them every day to see what else is going wrong with it. I don't ever want to go back there again and he has been very rude to me too... I know he hates me as well...they all hate me at the shop! I know it and I can feel it when I talk to them...

it's just not good business to be treating his customers like that.

people that know me, know that I would never try to pull something over on them or claim something when that is not the case...I still tried to give them chances but this shop is horrible

it's called RPM Motorworks in Anaheim. Eddie from Phase2 that did my wiring even said that they did a slopy job on the swap!

I am paying the shop for a reason... and after 2 and a half months and a cracked body kit and a whole bunch of scracthes later when he tells me the car is done... the car better be done.. but it's not.

BTW... I drove the car to work and guess what.. it died on me! I popped the hood and the damn wire to the electric fan had came loose!!! I had to squeeze it back in and had to get the car jumped and it died.. had it jumped again and drove half way and it WAY over heated so I pulled over cuz I knew that the fan got unplugged! and it was so the car died again and had it towed home...

I am done with this place! I called the shop at 6 and the guy was supposed to be there and they told me that he took off early.. mind you that he told me to come down today!!! and I even told them to have him call me cuz it's an emergency and no once called me back!

How many chances do I have to give him??? no more.. I am done with that place.

Ugggg....

dude, how many chances are you going to give these people? They have blown their chance a million times over. Do you have any idea how many swaps I could have done in the time it's taken them? Jesus. It's embarrasing. I should start making a list of shops that have proven themselves and shops that suck and put it on my site.

that is an aweome Idea! I really think we should and I might even ask to have it posted up on NICO..

and yes, I am a sucker when it comes to that stuff... I will give them a last chance to fix things..just so they can't say that I didn't try to fix things, you know?? but anyway.. I'll keepyou posted...

Wayne can't take me this weekend anyway so I will go to RPM and see what they will do for me.

I'm sorry to hear of your experience. I also had a bad experience with them. They're supposedly "Maxima Friendly/Knowledgable" people. All the extra people u saw hanging out there were probably Maxima.org people. http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=276665

I brought my car in after many praises from Max.org. However, they screwed up a simple cv boot repair. I made an appointment, showed up and they claimed they had the boot. I waited 3hr, only to find that they ordered the boot after I got there. And then I learn they ordered for the wrong year maxima. Instead of going to Kragens or whatever to pick up the right one, they tell me to go home and come back the next day.

I go back in, and same thing: they order when I got there. (this's after they arrived late cuz they partied late the night before and slept in.) Waited another hr for the delivery, and another 2hr cuz they were working on another car. And then another hr cuz they took a smoking break and social time w/visitors. All said and done, my additional complaints:use of air impact gun on my lugs after I told them not to (another interesting story I'll write about later)not tq the lugs to specplacing bolts and screws on my volks and even stepping on my volks to reach up.Steering arm not tightenedTranny fluid not replaced (told me wasn't necessary, but they topped off at least 1.5L)not addressing my other issue of diff seal leak.

Me getting flamed: http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=272630

http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=281919

Mind u, they sponsor Maximas and claim to be experts. I'm very disappointed and would never refer anybody there. Funny, cuz I remember seeing your car outside the garage, window open, dirty, scratched up, and parts everywhere. I don't remember them ever putting it in the garage at night either, but maybe they did real late by the time I leave (I used to hang out @ RPM till they worked on my car... so it wasn't like they didn't kno who I was). I asked them about it and they claimed it was a project car that they picked up for cheap and decided to swap. One employee claimed he attended a local community college or JC and had class in the auto shop. He said he could paint any car for cheap. Sounds shady to me, and that's probably what he woulda done w/your car.

About the lugs. I went to them to buy black lug nuts, but they didn't carry them cuz they said the black paint chips. I said not a problem cuz I don't use an impact gun. He said he doesn't either. So what happened when i brought my car in? He used an impact gun. WTF?! BTW, my lugs were about 40lb/ft, instead of 87lb/ft. One of them wasn't even on tight.

Be sure they wired the O2 sensor right. Mine stumbled at anything less than 3/4 throttle untill i got my sensor wired right. You can unplug it and it should run better if thats the problem. Also could be timing.

As far as the overheating thing i thought the sensor was only an issue in an S14 car with an S13 motor... If thats what you ahve then you definately need the S14 sensor.

I know man... I went on there and gotbanned because I told people how bad RPM is... whatever... I know I will cross paths with them one day or another... this world is too small for me not too. I go to most all NIssan meets and am very active and will be going fwd more active in the drifitng scene... so they will get what's coming to them..

I had more people contact me that were very disssatisfied with RPM..

I say callt he BBB and complain on them... the more people that do that, the better it is for us...
