Finally after a month my car is out of the shop. Almost all work was covered by the check from my insurance company, although I did have a little monetary contribution to add so all could be done the way I wanted.

If you don't remember, my cf hood flew up on the freeway (I was told I installed it wrong but idk how...) broke my hood, cracked my windshield, damaged my fenders and roof. However I restored my car a little bit and also had my tail lights replaced (severely screwed up on trying to take off the nightshade paint), headlights fixed (same as tails), had my fascia, roof, and stock hood repainted. and a lot of the scratches taken out from the paint.

Me and a friend should start working on my cf hood within the next few weeks and try and get it fixed and painted so it can go back on (with some locking latches of course). Well I'm just glad I have my car back and it was a hell of a day driving it today. Enjoy the pics.

Tails and roof (new paint blends in real nice with the black)

The tail lights are new stock lights so no they are not painted, do they look like it ???

and the headlights are not new just fixed a bit, you can still tell in person where the stripper ate away at the plastic but it's not nearly as horrible as they were. When I have enough I'll buy some new lights and break these open. I am planning on fixing my old tails (again) as well so I can have some painted lights here and again when I feel for it.

Thanks for the welcoming ...back :naughty:

Digging the turquoise or grey paint? on the Stillen Fascia.

Although that gap needs to be fixed. ;)

The paint is the same code for the 08-09 dark slate, but I think it looks a lot different when meshed with the super black. It also looks a bit more sparklier in person than the original dark slate.

And the fascia gap really doesn't bug me at all, or at least not enough to go to the measures some have gone to fix it. There are many other problems that are pretty unseen to most that I would worry about first, my mirror casing is cracked, the switch for my footwell leds keeps falling out, my center console is loose, my fender linings are torn, etc etc

Insurance covered the cost of a new STOCK hood, because of the significant price difference we decided to just put my stock hood back on and have the shop do some body work and custom painting instead. I still have my cf hood so I will be getting it fixed and reinstalled in time but for now I'm back to stock.

I'm pretty glad it went this way because my fascia looks good again, no more paint cracks, bubbles, or scrapes.

Factory tails do look better I think. But I am going to have to disagree with the headlights. Stock headlights vs painted (baked) / projectors / or even GTR style the way I had them I believe looks way better. The stock lights draw your eye way more than I'd like, the car is very dark and having the lights the way they are now doesn't sit well with me. I'm hoping to bake open and paint eventually but who knows, maybe I'll be able to save enough for some projectors.

I know painting them won't be hard once they are open. But I can't really afford a new headlight as of right now in case I break one trying to rush it. I also don't want to buy new headlights unless I need to which put me into the predicament to begin with. So I'm stuck to where I will open and paint when I have enough money and time off where I can buy a new light and wait for it to come before anything happens.

Thanks Vincent, kind of surprised to see you on the forums so much now. I know before you were busy with all the sponsors and getting your car prepped for the shows and what not, have you taken the opportunity to put some miles on that thing yet :rotfl

Ya they f'd up on my paint the first time. This time it came out better than I planned, I switched the color last minute because he thought I was asking for a nissan color when I was asking for an Aston Martin color (Meteorite Silver) but I just wanted my car back asap so I went with the Dark Slate. There were a few things wrong with the car that I have found out since though:

Driver side parking light isn't working (haven't checked if it's just not plugged in or blew out)
Turn signals were moved (from the under the fins to above the fins)
Driver side fascia is sagging below the headlight (not a huge deal to me but it'd be nice to have it fixed)
Overspray on center lower fascia
Map light configuration (with sunglass holder and stuff) is backwards.

That last one tripped me out the most, I keep my cigarettes in the sunglass holder (fits 3 packs perfectly) and I went to open it and realized it's backwards. Now when open it faces the windshield, as in map lights are closer to the windshield than the sunglass holder. It's actually pretty annoying now, but I hope these are all quick fixes so my car won't have to be in the shop more than a day.

+1 for the black and grey fascia. I think the car looks way better with the gtr headlight overlays. Just did mine the other day in case u were wondering how it would look with the fascia.

I agree, I really like the GTR style headlight overlays. But the reason my headlights and taillights needed to get fixed was because I had my tails and headlights painted prior. The headlights were GTR style but a little more custom since I was doing it :rotfl

Pics in case you wanted to know what it looked like...
