Wahoo! so I got home from work today and there was a message on the machine that the Black Max was ready to be picked up. I walked down and got to talking with my mechanic, (the ghetto 1-800 Warranty I have didn't cover any of it, but ahh well that is typical of a bottom dollar warranty company) well here were the problems that they picked out and fixed from what they heard while doing their test drive.. He took the first ride by himself, then brought another mechanic on the second. Here are their findings..

The rapid "click click click" coming from both the front wheels was a spring in the brake assembly that wasn't there.. causing the brakes not to pull back in far enough.. so they put new front brake hardware on it.. I don't hear "click click click" no more..

The nasty clunk/rattle from what I thought was the front of the car was really a Exhaust Shield rattling, he explained it to me the easiest he could by saying It surrounds the pipe and I guess the welds just got old and broke loose causing the shield to bang against whatever It had a chance too. They rewelded the shield back to the pipe, no more clunk/rattle from hell

all in all It costed me $86 to get them problems straight, now If I could get my NGK plug here, stupid UPS lost my package now I gotta wait another 4 days.

The one mechanic that assisted on the work done to my car also said that my strut bushings could possibly be on their way out, and that It is a pricey job, but all in all a successful trip to the shop.

looks like I have enough money to replace my rear deck speakers... now if Walmart would restock the Pioneer 6x9s lol

nice to know that it wasn't a MAJOR problem!!

as far as the strut bushings...DO THEM YOURSELF!!!!!!!!!

go to Pepboys, and buy a manual for your car...take a look at the suspension section...and follow the steps for replacing the strut bushing!!

it will only take a few hours at most, and you will save yourself hundreds of dollars!!!

yes, I was just glad he gave me an idea of what could be next to happen. They didn't touch them because of how much It would cost on my part, because of the ghetto warranty.

I have a Haynes Manual for the Nissan Maxima, some parts aren't quite clear for the 1998.. but I get through it the best I can.

Yeah, Im really glad It wasn't a big deal. Mechanic said the car drives great and It was a nice car, besides the little bumps and bruises It has.
