I was just typing up a reply to something in my other thread and decided to tell how my Tuesday went. It was like the movie Friday. I almost got fired on my day off. And yes, you do have to be one dumb MF to get fired on your day off.

Here is how it started. I have a new supervisor. this supervisor asked my partner and I our opinion on a co-worker that has been training. So we told him our opinion. The next day, on our day off, my partner calls me up and tells me to check our email. So I do, and the boss has sent out some nice hate mail. Just totally blessing us out. Now of course this pisses me off to no end.

So you know me, I let my reply fly. I express in strong, but not overly strong terms how I feel about him using our opinions that he asked us for (and agreed with while we were talking face to face) against us, in ref to this employee.

He also goes off about my partner leaving work early the other night with a headache. Basicly calling him a lier. So again, I point blank told him I resented the fact he was calling him a lier. He does more to help this place than 90% of the employees here, and this is how he is repaid.

Then he goes off saying point blank we are the entire problem with our shift. I have worked for six different supervisors, and was up for the position he got, and have never had a problem with any boss, except him.

Now to be honest, I like him. We worked together on a different shift for awhile, and were friends. But now we are getting this. This is the second time something was directed at my partenr and myself. And he basicly tried to get rid of another guy. And, I just dont know what to do. After we reply to his hate mail, he sent another one and basicly appologized , and telling us that he doesnt want us to leave the shift (because I flat out asked him if he wanted to get rid of us). I am just at a loss.

I can most likely go back to second shift. The super there likes me, and we have worked together before. I know he will do everything he could to get me back. I like third, but I just dont think it is worth it. He appologized, but this is not the first time. So I just dont belive it.

Why cant I just get teh winnig ticket to lotto? lol

Wow, looks like he definitely flunked Principles of Management. Thats the wrong way to run an organization, but I guess hes learning.

I like the third shift, too, but I'd trade it for second shift in a second if I was having troubles like that. I hate it when the workplace turns friends into enemies. To me, jobs like that aren't worth it.

Heck he sent out a third email after he found out I asked the second shift supervisor if he would object to me requesting his shift. Which he didnt have a problem with at all.

This one he says you have to go through the proper chain to request shift change. So i sent him another reply, saying I didnt request a shift change. I asked the other super if he would have me, because I didnt feel like being made a fool of again. Once a week is plenty for me.

You know, if my job isnt stressfull enough. Working in this dungeon of a 911 center sucks. Good pay, good bennifits, but the over allstress of the job, and now this stuff. I have always gotten good evaluations, form my supers. I am respected by the majority of the law enforcment officers I dispatch. The EMS dont hate me, and I as far as I know, the rescue squads, and fire departments dont have a problem with me. I rarley get complaints. Not saying I dont screw up, i just have a nak of not getting caught.

I sent a reply to his reply of my reply, and am waiting on a reply. We'll see how that goes. But I figure I need to get while the getting is good.

I know. I hope my super does as well, even though I would only use something he sent in defense of mine or my partners job. I keep copys of pretty much everything I email, as proof/defense for this very reason. I also blind carbon copy what I send him to two other co-workers. And tend to have someone proof read it, to make sure i dont get to far out of line.

I have come to realize that government work is as cut throat, and back stabbing as it gets. But to be honest, I just dont care anymore. I can be out of debt in six months or so, then they can fire me, and I will go back flipping burgers, for all I care. At least I enjoyed flipping burgers. I was good at flipping burgers. Get me one of those ovegloves and go to flipping. No burnt hands, and there you go.

Good luck man. If the boss is a real pita just switch to the other shift and save yourself the stress.

Sometimes the pay just isn't good enough to stand the stress it provides.

What do you work as Jester? Dispatch on C-Med or something?

That suprises me that you're finding supervisors that are harda$$es in that line of work. Our C-Med does an excellent job dispatching and organising, and they play around alot on the radio as well ("meow" game is in full effect like every single night-- I dont know why it never gets old lol)... You kinda have to be a little lighthearted with EMS, or its tough to get through...

See that is the thing, we cut up. Hell he cuts up. we can get away with a lot on third. I would almost swear he was bi-polar. He is great most of the time, and jsut has a mood swing or something.

Anyway, I dispatch for the county. Sheriff, six small town police departments, eight ems bases, five rescue squads, 21 fire departments.

And it is a no go on shift change. My good friend that is assistant comm directortold me both open positions have been offered to applicants. The one has been held open for nine months, and now they decided to fill it the day before I may decide to request it.

Oh well, we will work it out.

I dont think it would do alot of good. I am just going to chill for now. Like I said, I need six months to get out of debt, and then I can tell them to kiss off, with a three week notice.
