got my car back from the shop a couple days ago... took longer than expected but i am soo happy with the end result here's what i got installed:

- s13 blacktop w/ transmission w/ only 56k kms!!- MicroTech engine management system- TIAL bov- 2.5" custom intercooler piping- 24x12x3 fm intercooler (core size)- megan racing turbo outlet- megan racing 3" downpipe- megan racing test pipe- RS-R GT-2 exhaust- SPEC stage 2 clutch kit- walbro 255lph fuel pump

i was lucky to get this engine, since the distributor dropped the original redtop i was going to get and it cracked the head. this engine is mint, parts of it are still anodized! here's the pics:

this was it sitting on the hoist getting the wiring all prepped...

this is the finished product, super clean, i'm gonna swap out those blue silicone couplers with black colored & higher quality ones. oh and the intercooler & the piping leading into the engine bay i installed myself...

they built the cold & hot pipes and also my intake pipe... quite an amazing welding job to say the least.

last but not least the RSR GT-2... this thing is crazy straight and pretty loud too, but at full throttle it sounds amazing!

and at 7psi boost, here's the best run on the dyno during tuning: really smooth response and loads of power, 233.1 RWHP! the standalone microtech and removal of the MAF makes good power

i got vids of the dynoruns and i am gonna do some audio recordings of the exhaust and TIAL bov which no one seems to have any sound clips of... but considering it's the most efficient BOV on the market and doesn't have the greatest rep for the best sounding, i would have to say that it sounds absolutely amazing! not too loud so that it gets annoying but loud enough to echo off houses and make some heads turn the exhaust sounds good too, but a little loud for my liking...

Looking good !

Very clean set up. The welds on the turbo piping look amazing. And nice choice on the RSR. Their products are always top notch.

And 56k km !? Nice find !

OMG ya! prior to this i had the ka24e with approximately 320,000kms on it :P the input shaft on the transmission was loud as a mofo cause it wasn't even touching the bearing anymore, and i was going through gas like no tomorrow... this engine gets insane mileage despite how i've been spiritedly driving it the last couple days. i would say it gets another 100km per tank over my old setup, and puts out 100 more hp

ya i didn't think so either, that i could make that kind of power on stock boost, but that's their claim to fame... here's a couple vids of the dyno runs:

http://www.sfu.ca/~adraper/car/MOV01472.MPGthis one is just going through all the gears, good idea of how the TIAL bov sounds and the RS-R GT2

http://www.sfu.ca/~adraper/car/MOV01467.MPGthis was the 3rd and best dyno run of the night, 233.1 hp and 220 lb.tq

IC piping looks awsome. I wish I could find someone to weld even close to that around my place.

ya i was lucky cause this shop was the best deal and they just so happen to do the best welds.

oh and the sound in the video doesn't do my car any justice, it sounded 20x cooler in person echoing throughout the shop :P but my car definately turns heads when that bov goes... and this is what their eyes have to feast on... hehe

gotta love those 5 lug conversion hubcaps

With those mods he should be around 10 PSI with no boost control setup.

I think those numbers are on par with a 10 PSI setup with a good tune, mainly because the torque isn't inline with 12 - 14 PSI numbers. Remember the turbocharger only pushes out like 10 PSI on the top end anyways.

If he were to run a controller he'd see alot more torque gain but less on the big end.
