purchased a 95 240 with s15 front end conversion and s14 sr20det. took them about 4 months to finish and i went to get it yesterday and they still had not finished. Told them i wanted the car anyways. Problems they never told me about include my turbo is always spooling and it can be heard. shifting to second the shifter catches. Synchros on the transmission i hear are off. there is only a downpipe for an exhaust. What im really worried about tho is the turbo. Could the problem be because of the exhaust? im waiting for mine to come in but id hate to have to spend another 1500 on a car i just got for a turbo. anybody ever have these problems?

What do you mean when you say that the turbo is always spooling?

I guessing it might have something to do with it. I had an exhuast leak. And the turbo did take a while to spool up and did make some what your describing. Its like your tubro is trying to reach for full power but it never gets there. once I fixed the leak. Bye bye spooling noise. Are you running stock boost? are you hitting 7psi? I would say get the exhuast on and see what happens

ok yea, waiting on the exhaust to come in. The shop didnt put a boost gauge on it or wire up my gauge cluster for that matter. If you guys are anywhere near North carolina i would not suggest MR2GURU or pheonix motorsports. but im slapping a tach boost gauge and exhaust should be here next week and ill keep you posted.

The turbo will always be spinning and it does make noise when it does that. Typically you just don't hear it when you have a complete exhaust, but with just a d/p it will be much more evident. As StayBOOSTED said, if you have a leak it will take longer to reach boost and peak boost will be off, but your original post didn't say that. Nonetheless, keep us posted and good luck.
