Really other than the front bumper doesn't look that bad... Interior looks decent, and no signs of rust on the rockers near the rear doors or on the rear quarter panels.

Certainly isn't the easiest job in the world, but it's not impossible. I've done it a handful of times and I can usually do it in 2-3 hours.. Good time to check compression while you're in the neighborhood.

I would take one plug out to see what kind of shape it is in before doing anything. If it is in good shape like it has been replaced not long ago, I would wait until you do the plenum service.

Welcome Back!

Check to see that the first two plugs (the first from the front of the car) do not have oil around the base of the plugs when you remove them. A leaking valve cover (note: RTV instead of gaskets used on the 90-93) can cause oil to accumulate around the base of the plug. Mine were leaking at 115,000 miles even after a dealer had resealed the valve covers at 60,000 miles.

Use double platinum NGK plugs (OEM spec) that will be good for 60,000+ miles. Usually the RTV needs to be replaced to resolve an oil leak on the 1 and 2 cylinders. Compared to other V8 engines, the VH45DE can run on 7 cylinders (often due to at least one oil soaked plug) without being too noticeable. A non-firing plug can cause the cylinder to be continually washed with fuel that will cause it to wear before other cylinders.
