Yep, you heard me. It's 5am and i just got home.... me and a bunch of people went to a local pub for some drinks (it was my friends 19th birthday - legal drinking age in canada). After the bar, 3 ****ing cowboys started calling us on... these guys were 6'5, 300lbs. 2 of my friends got beat up, i held another one back so he didn't get it. One of my buds got 3 chipped teeth and his lip ring ripped out, the other got a cracked rib, broken nose and broken wrist.

What a ****ty *** night

Grr, An unprokvoked attackbegs for revenge.

BUT revenge would probaly lead to such a bad beating of those guys that jailtime could be a possibility.

Probably no worth it..

Revenge? We have no idea who these guys are... and it's like trying to fight a tree, man. How do you fight a tree? They would've ripped my head off.

Weapons are always a bad idea unless you know they are armed as well. Your best bet is to hit the soft spots and move quickly. The throat, the balls, kidneys, eyes etc.

Don't you mean "...unless you know they are NOT armed as well." ???

I think that you should never pull a weapon unless you are about to use it. I mean don't draw a gun or a knife unless you are in the process of stabbing or shooting someone. Never, ever pull a weapon and think that you will scare someone by waving it around. And if you do pull it, don't talk, act right away.

It's good that no one had weapons in this situation because someone would have gotten really hurt. At least you and all your friends can deal with the lumps. Everyone will heal soon enough and no one's life will be changed.

Yes, thats what I meant, until the **** hits the fan a weapon will only make the situation worse imo.

Obviously... waving a weapon around is basically a ticket to getting your *** beat if they grab some sort of weapon.

I meant if they are closing fast and the fight is imminent, self defense is self defense.

Heh, also, know when to tuck tail and run... I don't care what mood i'm in or what I have on me, I wouldn't **** with people that are "6'5 300 pounds".

Unless you have extensive fighting experience, it isnt worth the aftermath.

I agree with both of you milo and Nathan. I coined the phrase "bad-guy-itis" for people who talk when they should act. That is always the downfall of the bad guy in hollywood movies.

LOL that reminds me of way back in 7th grade... some kid apparently had a problem with me.

Some kid ran up behind me and tried to hold my arms back.. instead of hitting me in the face he tried to slap me (i guess to prove some point?).. anyway i swung my head back, gave the kid holding me a bloody nose, then proceeded to throw the other guy onto the ground and into a fence :P

Ah, good memories. I love it when kids who talk **** hesitate.. perfect window of opportunity (if it gets that bad at least.)

No real point in fighting when its unaviodable or just simply not worth it.

Yeah, the guy who got really beat up works on the oil rigs, so he's a decent size... but after the fight, with a bloody face he said "man that big *****er can hit really hard". I felt so sorry for my buddies, but there wasn't anything i could do.

I'll fight big guys...but I HATE little guys, the big guys (myself included) tend to be a bit slow, hard hitting but slow. If your fighting a group of people you should never try to engage all of them, move as far away as possible from the majority of them and try to never be engaged with more than one at a time. It should almost be a one hit move on to the next one technique that is more defensive than offensive if you have any hope of not getting pummeled. Then there's always the make an example technique...just pick the biggest or the smallest one out and hurt em' bad enough that nobody wants to get near you. Weapons in a fight suck though, luckily I've never been involved in any fights involving any kind of weapons, I hope it stays that way. A black eye heals, a slit throat or hole in your chest doesnt.

haha, he made a funny quote, yes us big mother****ers do tend to hit hard, I like to punch metal road signs as hard as I can sometimes, it's fun.

perhaps you should've tried to joke with them and buy them a beer?

I am reminded of Enter the Dragon where after watching this guy break boards in an attempt to intimidate, Bruce Lee says, "Boards do not hit back."

I've been trying to work on kicking them a little more personally, it messes with people to see some one of my size throw a halfway decect round house about head level, kicks aren't the best for a real fight unless you're fast though, I'm not fast with my feet:(

Kicks are imo worthless in a fight for anything higher than the knee, I can throw some wicked kicks but all they are really good for is to show off :(

There's a story in the news now of a guy who killed someone with just one punch! That's some scary stuff. You think you're gonna have a man to man toe to toe and someone ends up dead...from just one punch.

Ahhh, I could see that happening with the temple, I could see someone dying from a punch to the throat or neck too.

Yeah, or maybe even a really hard punch to the chest right above the heart. That might do it too...but what are the odds of dying from just one punch?

They odds are pretty slim i would think, unless the attacker was trained in martial arts or something. A good, clean fist fight is all good ;)

most streetfights go to the ground in like 10 seconds or less, if you can't groundfight you're a goner.

Nah, I disagree...I cant groundfight at all but I've never been taken to the ground before. If ever I am, its gouging, ball punching time.
