Well today im very sad an angry as well finally i have finished checking everything on my motor from osaka jdm motors and well to tell eveyone the thruth im very disapointed and one step behind driving to canada and making them give me a new engine well making everything short so far i have realized that all that guy jhon said about the engine was pure lies as for example he said all engines were compression and leak down tested ummmm nope i starte the compression test got 140 on 4th cylinder, 70 on 3rd cylinder 145 on 2nd cylinder AND guess what i get to cylinder one and i find a poudle of rust + water on the so call just tested engine at leat the compression was 140 . Now i started going crazy on the rate i leave the engine come back the next day re measure and i get a 90 reading soo idk whats going on obiously i added a lil oil and bumpppp all the way to 150 ( so i guess its the rings ) well for now i would like some of your experiences with this kind of problems. Now second thing i notice transmission does not look nothing like the motor. The i took a close look at it the top part of the transmission were the top mounting screws are were completely scratch and i belive wore out in pourpouse but well the screws are intact olthough the were rigth in the was of the scratches and all the bolts are marked with a marker ... now the transmission is all dirty and dark and the engine its completely shinnning clean. Another thing i notice was the bented fuel rail and broken injectors ... missing the two pieces that come off the turbo. As of now i have had a pretty decent response from the guy since he said over the phone that he would replace and suply me with all the missing parts. But the part that really got me thinking was when i asked about the low compression he responded that i should not worry since i "these are turbo engines , These do not need to have a high compression " then i asked about the other 3 cylinders why the differences , he replyed " dont worry i promisse , or the warranty will take care of it " well i only have a 30 day warranty but until i get the parts and everything oo maan i dont even kno im gettting really frustrated with this companie please if any of u got some good tips help me out since im being pushed to my limits .Thanks...

Hey man, just some advise...DONT trust that Focker!!! I got a pretty decent engine from them but it was missing the ignitor, came with a cut harness, and some other parts were broken(I'll blame the shipping for that). Of course I contacted them and let them know that I had to pay 400 for a new Harness and that they should give me a refund for that...He pretty much just told me that they would only give me $150, and that they were basically being generous . I agreed cause 150 is better than nothing and, well, its been 5 months and still no $150. Just nag the shat out of them and if your warranty ends just call your credit card co. and tell them that they didnt send you what was advertised, you should get your money back. I wish I would've spend the xtra 1k and went through someone else...

you should have done research first and realized that Osaka motor usually always are crap. I never order from them and would refuse to. Ive seen 1 good Osaka motor and multipule pieces of crap.

Also the reason your SR looks clean is probably because they pressure wash and degreese everything.

I'm looking for ppl on line that have or had problems with Osaka, i bouth a motor from them in 4/5/07, and after some terrible consumer's service calls experience and excuses finally got it yesterday, My mechanic inspected the motor and guess what, blown gaskets and replaced timing belt and some other stuff wrong with the engine, an estimated of over 100k miles on it and they advertise 10k to 35k, i called osaka and the guy told me it was a done deal, the engine was shipped with 35k and that is what it has.....BS.

My fiance works for a big law firm that represents UPS and the UPS attorney says that they are a lot of discrepancies regarding that company.

If you dont mind i would like to get your contact info, maybe an email, since we are thinking abt proceeding with a law sue.

Sorry dude but you get no sympathy here man. You order from a shady place you have no right no complain about crappy service/ crappy product. There are plenty of other reputable vendors that you would have a much better expierence with.

I ordered my engine from Jazz Pro Parts. When it arrived it had Osaka's address and labels on it. But so far everything is good. They actually sent me a new OEM harness with it cause the original had been hacked. Sorry for all of your guys problems. This is the second time I had to order an engine set as I was ripped off by Total JDM from Canada. They got me for $2,100.00. At least you still got an engine from them. I don't know what the deal is with pulling an engine by the fuel rail??!?!!?

Seems to be a trend...canadien importers ripping ppl off, eh??

I ordered mine from Soko-America way back in 2000 I think. Paid about 1500 for mine, but I was missing some necessary stuff (I learned my lesson back then; front clips are the way to go), however the engine was spotless....when I removed the valve cover it looked brand new. Actually, I have only had it in my car for about a year and a half and the last time I removed the VC (last month) it still looked brand new. I have no complaints from them...It actually shipped right to my parking lot (I was in the army at the time) in 3 days!

There is a reason why these places are located in Canada. They can import to the States through Canada and not pay duty fees, and because Canada is a foreign country there are different laws concerning credit cards and refunds and all that. I talked to my credit card company before I bought a clip from Canada and they said basically I wouldn't be able to get a refund if anything went wrong. I took a big risk on a shady seller on ebay, but I got a perfect 100% complete Silvia clip for $3000 total, so I got lucky. If I do it again I'm just gonna get the clip from local importers.

I have a 91 s13 se w/ a blacktop s13 sr20. Ah man I wish I had found you a week ago. I actually just figured out the problem the other day. The 12 volt cable going to the alternator had spliced at one point which caused the whole wire to burn up. I fixed the wire but the heat from the wire killed my ignitor chip so Im just waiting for the new one to come in.
