As the title says,i got my car to start finally after finding fuel lines backwards, and wrong plug forced onto the tps. but it runs rough as hell ! in order to get it to start or keep it running the pedal must be to the floor and held there.
even while it is held to the floor it takes a good while, maybe 2-3 minutes of cranking to start. once it is started like i said the pedal has to stay planted to the floor and it will inch its way up in the rpm's takes about 1 minute to get to 4k rpms with pedal planted.
once it gets to 4k you can ease off because it seems to be the sweet spot. you can rev from this point. just dont let it drop below 4k! another thing is i heard a clanking sound coming from under the valve cover. i pulled it and found that when the chain is in the top dead center position there is slack in the chain, and when cranking the chain slaps up against the chain guard in between the 2 cams...maybe 1-2 teeth worth of slack... Shouldnt the tensioner take this slack out?
I have never seen this before!! the rest of the chain is snug the way it should be. just that little section is not. i did everything by the book when i put it on there. how can i adjust it out? i have an idea, just want to know how some of you would do it.
