I have a phantom white rogue sl awd with all the goodies. and....I got into a car accident today...cant believe it..had my rogue for 6 months already. Guy hit me at the back..the rear bumper and tire on the right side is totally messed up, but officer said that its usually fixable... called progressive and after getting the information said an adjuster will call me tomorrow. Cant really believe that I got into an accident grrrrr. Amazingly, I didnt feel the impact, thank god the air bags did not explode (since damage was done at the rear side). the guy who hit me (actually sustained a lot of damage in his car but I guess he was alright snce he ran after hitting me).. on the lighter side..nobody was hurt... on the negative side... I just got that rogue 6 months ago!

hopefully they'll get to fix it...although dont know if I should just let them fix it or get a new car...have gap insurance along with the full coverage insurance, but I guess even with the full insurance, I cant do it and just let them fix it.... I am so dismayed

all i can do now is look at the bright-er side...am still alive! attach are the pictures grrrrr

I would highly recommend getting a full solid metal tow bar, If you ever seen a car that hits suvs with it their front end gets totaled, and the suv usually sustains next to no damage. Then you could of Ran his *** down.

If the person that hit you has insurance (or if you have to sue) make sure you get more than just the money to "fix" the damage. Do a search on "Diminished Value".

This may sound like a cheap endorsement, but if Progressive is your insurance company, use your collision coverage and one of their Service Centers to get your car fixed. If they can confirm coverage and liability with the other party's carrier, they'll front your deductible for you.

If you dont have an existing relationship with a body shop (AKA, been through this before), their service centers are great. Drop off you car, get a rental, they'll write the estimate there and then send it to one of their direct repair facilties. Whats great is they quality inspect it before calling you to pick it up.

The shops tend to do better work since they are delivering it to people who are professionals for quality inspection and not just your average consumer.
