**** guys, i got into an accident yesterday...i wont discuss the details but it messed up my front clip pretty much. ill probably be buying a used usdm one, but theres a few other problems i really need help with. a friend of mine knows a lot about 240s so i had him take a look under my car after the accident because i couldnt steer at all, it was like i had no control over the wheel. a few things were bent from the impact including the tension rod and the bushing for the thingymabobber (forgot the name). but the one that is causing the steering problems apparently is that the ball-and-socket type joint from my rack and pinion popped out (the part that lies underneath the rubber boot) i want to know if there is a way to pop it back in, or am i going to need to buy a new one, my friend said you can probably pop it back in, but neither one of us knows how so i thought id ask before we attempted anything....i get paid minimum wage ($6.75 here in cali) every two weeks, so i have no idea how long its gonna take to get my car back on the road. i only have liability so i have to pay for my repairs regardless, not to consider my insurance is going to go up too.i wont beg for free parts, but if anyone is kind enough to donate any used parts or give me a cheap price on items such as headlights, hood, fenders, bumper, or left tension rod i would really appreciate it. its a 91 s13 btw....thanks for all your help guys

It sounds like you need new tie-rods. Dont even try to fix whats there, for your safety replace everything thats broken.

From the sounds of it you got two options....find a 91 s13 and steal it or get a better paying job and pay someone to fix it.....if you don't know the name of the broken parts don't fix them yourself.....if you have to ask how to put them in don't do it yourself.....if you're getting tie rods get brand new ones and get an alignment after you pay someone to install them.....should be replaced in pairs and I just got new ones for my 89 and they were $24 cdn. Also how old are you? Making minimum wage and that only being $6.45 must mean you're pretty young so you could probably borrow your parent's vehicle to go to work or to go look for a better paying job. I get minimum wage ($7.50) in ontario plus I do many sidejobs to pay for my 240.
