Hello,

I am a member of this club from overseas and I'm the only one in this country with this car.

I have a 98 Nissan Cima vip 2wheel drive and got into a car accident.

Damage isn't too bad at all but price on fixing it cost alot of money.

So far damage is broken headlight, fender, bumper, and a wheel.

Doesn't sound too serious, but around US$20,000 damage.

I'm sure you guys know that cima and Q45 is same but use different parts.

Headlight cost $3500, Fender $1400, Bumper $2500, Chrome molding $1400, Paint $2000.

I have 20inch Weds Borphes which is damaged. Problem is they don't make this wheel anymore so

I told insurance company to take all my wheels and give me $10,000 (original price when it was new)

or get me a same wheel.

So far i'm driving a Mercedes Benz S350 rental car which costing them $700 a day.

Now i'm facing a problem that they want to total my car.

Problem is nobody knows how much my car actually worth.

Can't find exactly same one from Japan used car either.

These are options of mine from factory.

TV, 6airbags, vip seats rear with secretary front passenger seat. heated rear seats, massage rear seats, motorized rear seats, reading lamp with personal mirror in rear seats (looks same as airplane reading lamp), full control of aircon, tv, radio, CD, air purifier from rear, factory xenon headlights etc.

Basically this car is built for back seat driver.

How much do you think it will worth? It has around 100,000miles and very very rare.

Yes, it is very expensive to rent a car here in Korea. Usually Hyundai Sonata will cost around $80 aday.

In California a 97-99 Q sells for $3000-$4000 and a clean low mileage 98 Q might sell for $4000-$5000. I've seen beaters for $1500 on Craigslist. A 2000 anniversary edition Q will sell for $5000-$8000 depending on mileage and condition. I have no idea what your Cima would be worth here (if it could be imported) but a wild guess would be around $10k.

Would it be cheaper for you to buy a 97-01 Q for the body parts in Seattle, S.F. or L.A. and have it shipped in a seatainer to Korea? How about ordering online and have parts shipped from Japan?

Post some pics. We'd like to see your Q.

Will be cheaper if i buy parts from US but they are different type of parts. Only thing i might be able to use from US will be a fender but price will be killed by shipping. Headlight is factory xenon which didn't came arond to US market Qs and bumper is totally different looking. Be honest i like US version bumpers. So far insurance company didn't do anything as yet but rent me a car to drive. I tried to import other Cima in from Japan but somehow the changed a law from Korea that i can't import V8 Cima anymore. Which makes mine more unique. I will post some pics of it but if you see the damage it's not so bad at all.

Isn't Korea a LHD (i.e. - drive on the right) country?

Yes, it is LHD country, but they also allow right hand drive cars.
