Got hit by lawn equipment....

So Im driving to work this morning at like 5 am. There is a new white maxima in front of me, and in front of him some pos late 90's f150 loaded with mowers, weed eaters, and leaf blowers. Out of nowhere I see some s*** fall off the back off this truck while Im driving 55mph and I see the maxima swerve in one direction, about hit the car next to him and comes back into the lane. Im trying to look for whatever he swerved out of the way of and then BAM!! The weed eater hit my front bumper, busts itself into about 5 pieces and all I can hear is something dragging. I pull over, the truck behind me stops to help me and of course the pos f150 keeps going. Needless to say the shaft of the weedeater is wedged up next to my cv shaft, the motor of the weed eater is over in the grass. All my front undercarriage plastics are ripped out and laying behind me on the road. So I pick them up and throw that mangled mess into my trunk, and now my front bumper is all cracked with paint missing and a big plastic chunk all bent up. So thats my monday morning commute to work. Hope everyones else's was less exciting.

Im pretty sure it is. I know Ill need all new undercarriage plastics and a new front bumper. Already have a claim in with USAA and waiting on them to call me so I can try to go get the estimate done today. Nothing makes me madder than taking care of my stuff and someone else messing it up for ya.

Sorry to hear that man. There aren't any aftermarket 2010 bumpers out either... But there's nothing wrong with the stock bumper which I love.

they will soon have aftermarket bumper, just wait.. i promise you that. i have few things up my sleeves but cant expose em till its released. Less than a month…..

Just got done looking at everything with my buddy at work and up under where all the undercarriage got ripped out I noticed my radiator shroud is all broken on the bottom missing a big piece and my radiator is dented up and in about 2 inches. Nothing is leaking so at least I can still drive it but now its even more work and more headache than it was. Oh well I guess

Got home today and was looking at my car in my garage and now noticed the tabs on the headlights where they bolt on the car and the bumper attaches are broke off. So I guess they will have to replace both headlights now also. Im guessing my estimate is going to be high. Now I need a front bumper, a radiator shroud, both headlights, and a radiator.

Hope Mills is about 5 miles outside of Fayetteville, NC. I like it. Its not in town, but not so far away from base that it takes me an hour to get there or anything.

Ok so got the estimate done today. They are saying $2700 dollars. Thats to replace the bumper, ac condensor, radiator shroud, left headlight assembly, lower engine cover, labor etc. I have all the part numbers and with getting a left headlight housing off ebay I think I can get everything for $1000. Then Ill just have to have the bumper painted and reassemble everything myself. Shouldnt take more than a couple hours. My questions is this. Is it ok for me to drive around with my ac system evacuated of frion? I called pep boys and they will release all the frion and then refill it for me once the new condensor is on for $140. Can I drive my car once the frion is all out and just make sure my a/c stays off or will with burn out my ac compressor or something. Just hit me up if anyone knows anything.

I think this would be covered by your comprehensive car insurance cuz it was something that hit u. ur insurance rates wont go up if it is indeed covered by the comprehensive. it would be worth it to look into.

I wouldn't let pep boys down here touch my car, but make sure you have system pressure tested and vacuumed before being filled with freon. Don't want leaks or moisture in system. If they can't vac go somewhere else.

Well I ended up not using Pep boys because they are pretty much retarded. They had no idea what I was talking about when I said I needed to have my system vacuumed out. So I went to Meineke at 730 this morning and got them to vacuum it. Just got the new ac condensor put on.

Now I just have to get back to Meineke and have it recharged but they are saying they are now really busy and it will have to be this evening before they can get to it. Oh well. Just happy that my car is finally getting back into one piece. My stillen lip will be here tomorrow. New wheels and tires say out for delivery today. Lip and new front bumper are getting dropped off Monday morning. So Im hoping everything will be done and on the car by tuesday evening.
