I had a set of Pilot fog lights on my pignose. On the underside of the bumper where the license plate is, there were two metal brackets, one on each side. Well, the brackets just seemd to be there doing nothing, so I took them off and mounted the lights with bolts in that postion. If you guys have that same thing, just use the bolts that are already there. Worked great. Just point them out about 2-3 degrees from center so your beam spreads better.

i have those stock yellow fogs. i don't really like the yellow though. i've been thinking of opening up the housing and see if there is any way to eliminate that ugly yellow...i just don't know if the yellow comes from a film or what. if it is a film, i'm gonna try to find a way to get rid of it.

anybody know anything about the stock foglights or have any ideas?

Mine are sweet IMO and my friends. Think they are brighter than my headlights. I got a 93 240. So no pignose. I got some rectangle PILOT fog lights for 19.99 at autzone. probably 2"x5" will measure tomorrow. The littl vents in the front bumper under your turn signals is where I installed them. Fits perfectly in there mount the brackets to the vent then put the lights in place and bolt in. Takes a little bit of effort to do it yourself.Remember it's plastic so it can give quite a bit before it breaks. My trip has been postponed till friday morning so I'll take a couple pics tomorrow at my dad's car lot. How hard is it to upload the pics? Only problem witht the kit is couldn't figure out where to install the switch for them and had to lengthen the cords so the switch could be inside the car.

Can sombody gimme the rundown on the use of foglights? From what I understand, normal halogen and HId color temperature lights reflect too highly off water particles in front of them, i.e. rain, snow, fog, and obstructs the driver's view of the road? The yellow lights of foglights reflects less off the precipitation and more on the road?

The reason I ask is because all I have on my 93' S13 are Sylvania Silverstar sealed beam headlights. I've driven in VERY heavy snow and rainfalls. I see fine on highways going up to 85 mph. Sure it takes a little more concentration, but once you focus on the road ahead and not on the rain and snow, it's fine. Going at highway speeds with a clean windshield and good wipers results in enough wind to blow snow right off anyway, almost without wipers.

I've never really driven in any intense fog, albeit some morning fog where visibility is about 30 feet. Does the yellow light really cut through fog during the day? How about at night?

And for those who will advise me not to drive 85mph in rain and snowstorms...note taken. It's all about knowing the limitations of your car, and how the power is being transferred from the tires to the road. On empty straightaways, driving in tire paths with snowtires while concentrating is quite easy. No slippage at all. I've driven up to 85 mph from Buffalo,NY to Albany (5 hours) through a snowstorm while everyone else was going 50mph, under complete control.

Reason I got them is for look. I love they way they look. I've had my car for 2yrs and always wanted some but never did it.It was an impulse buy. The only advantage it gives me is increasing the width span of light. Heped me avoid a couple obstacles that didn't know was there. I'm with you about driving fast in poor conditions. Roads were iced last year in Arkansas was in my Grandpa's truck was going bout 120+ speedometer went around . I use my fog lights to signal people to move over, get my friends attention, etc.

Only place I could see installing them is in front of your radiator. in the middle where it is open.Only place where you could unless you got creative with a cutter or dremel. Too many thigns I want to do now. Going to attempt to put 300zx lights in my project car already goign to mess with the bumper so why not cut it to install some fogs? Sure it wouldn't be hard at all. Most time would just making sure you are centered and you got a steady hand.Might have to make a bracket to hold them though..... Don't think there is anything to mount them to.
