ABC News 10 wrote:CERES, CA - Police officers in Ceres have warned drivers to use extreme caution at night, after about 10 motorists hit concrete blocks deliberately place in the road over the past four months.

The latest occurrence was Friday night when a motorist hit a piece of concrete in the middle lane of Mitchell Road around 10 p.m.

According to Sgt. Jose Berber, the vandals in each case used large pieces of concrete, similar to concrete piers, that appeared to have been dug up from construction sites. Berber said all the incidents have occurred between 10 p.m. and 1 a.m.

In one accident, police discovered the piece of concrete used had been painted black to conceal it in the night, and another was placed in a black trash bag

Haha that's great. That's what some people do when they have ten bags of leaves on the curb. That one a-hole that hits it gets a surprise factor.

Cars and trucks are bad enough. What about the poor saps on motorcycles or scooters?

I hope they catch the idiots who did this and string 'em up by their ears.

A few years ago I was driving down I-16 where they had been doing construction. The workers left one of those bright orange barrels (Just 1) sitting in the left lane. It was dark and I saw it and barely had the time to react and change lanes real fast. It was a good thing there was no one next to me. Now imagine if that bright orange barrel was black, I would have hit it for sure.

I took the tippy top of a phone pole at about 75 mph with my poor 240 about 5 years ago. It laid all the way across the lane on the interstate. When I saw it in my headlights I had enough time to shift over a few feet and only ran over it with one side of the car. To my shock, I didn't damage the car.

I saw two other s*** things happen though. Once I was in daylight in traffic and saw the metal head of a spade shovel tumble out of a truck and a school bus was behind him. The bus when right over the waffling shovel head but the minivan behind the bus ate it hard.

A similar thing happened when I saw a half of a drum brake assembly from a dump truck lying in the road. Imagine how large a rim from an 18-wheeler is and imagine the brake drum that fills that. Several cars avoided it but another one took it head on. Little Carola launched up in the air a bit before coasting to the side with untold drivetrain carnage.
