Heres my story: kinda long but i jus need to tell somebody...

I was headin' to work yesterday afternoon. Hot and sticky day in Jersey. Traffic was slow - as soon as it started to pick up i gassed up and then all of a sudden the car in front of me brakes hard and slides on the road, no tire screaching, and hits the car in front of it. I slam on my brakes hoping to avoid any hit but I slide to her rear. 5 cars were involved and i was the last to hit. SO PISSED!!!tow guy said the loss of traction could've been caused by the oils/tar rising from the newly laid asphaltanywayz, my fastback is currently in the towers garage waiting to get picked up. the hood is bent, front bumper is badly dented, driver side fender is dented, passenger side has a lil' damage, core support is bent and I guess so is the frame. car runs and no fluids leaked but upon inspecting the engine bay, through looking into the bent hood, the engine is pushed back to the firewall.an autobody tech was present the towers garage, told me it would cost around $2000 to repair everything - i figure it'll be around $1500 if I buy used body parts myself.Just want to ask any opinions 'bout this accident - has anyone been in an accident like this- what other damages should i expect- would it be worth to keep and repair

i appreciate your reply

Well I think your worst fear should be if the frame is bent. Because that would be the hardest thing to fix and you would need a specialist to do it right otherwise it'll never drive right. The rest of the stuff a bent hood and I'm assuming the bumber too. Should be somewhat easy to replace. So if the frame is bent I would sell it. If not then keep it.

uh, sileithy conversion anyone? Sounds like a superb excuse, and its only about $1000 :D

This is, of course, assuming that it was just cosmetic damage.BTW, sorry to hear about the accident. That sucks.

lets start with the bad news - I'm $300 broke alreadygood news is that the frame is still straight.i brought the car to my mechanic/autobody person this Monday and we checked for any damages. Everything seems str8 except for the engine&transmission mounts, the hood, bumper, and driverside fender - w/c i bought replacements already. I don't have that much $ so I jus bought used parts and just keep the orig. look- question - on S13's, does the strut towers have a slight tilt to it - I don't remember seeing angles on the surface b4. I'm a lil' comcerned 'bout the mounting of the struts - the driverside tower has a small crackwhere the welds meet. my mechanic says that it ok so he jus worked on it himself, but i don't know. there isn't any cracks or bends on top of the wheelwellwhat do you guys think

i appreciate u'r replies

man. lookin good bro. the most important thing is there was no frame damage to the car. you would've had incurable pulling and drivability problems---well, that's a given. i'm sure you probably can't afford to get it painted, so why not just sand it, and primer grey it? :D

Quote »paint it up some random color w/ spray paint just for fun...like neon green or pink or something haha[/quote] thats wut i was thinkin...actually hot pink and neon green - HOT RIGHT!!! j/k aside - imma paint it like that like that corvette dark grey - im sick of driving that car barecolored. i turn heads when i roll around in it though!body kit would prolly have to wait - 'till some of these streets around me gets fixed.Im a lil' concerned 'bout the body, i noticed some buckling on top of the driverside strut tower - imma bring to a body shop and have 'em check it then have it reinforced lightly.and Im staying NA - I got 200,200.00 mi on that sucker and its still pushin' strong.lil' story B4 the accident:I cruised with a 1st gen turbo eclipise and managed to stay ahead on that curvy road...sounds like turbo - or maybe he/she jus put in a loud BOV....good memories tho

I had a little accident like that at my school. i was just rolling and the guy in front stopped right at the momment i looked over to see some moron chirping his tires. hood and bumper were just bent up. and my rght head light was bent too. as i later inspected it, i could see the frame where the head light bolted up too was a little out of place and where the fender bolted up, it sat a little high. the head light doesnt fit right, its a little recessed, so im going to have the frame pulled when i get my car painted. if anyone is in the Plano/Frisco area here in Teas, they have probably seen my car. two tone white and red.

dont make fun of the slots, the first thing i would do if i had a late s13 would be to switch bumpers, the slots look so much more sporty. I dont like the ford probe look my self.
