Fuel pump primes, car starts, then shuts off completely. I have the Q45 TB, and TPS wired in (hope i wired it correctly) and no turbo manifold on (no backpressure whatsoever).

So somone please list possible causes of why it may be shutting off.

Also, the pin on the ecu plug for Fuel Pump Voltage Control is missing, just thought i'd mention that.

Your starting your motor with no exhaust manifold on it? Hope you like warped valves.

Is your fuel pump shutting back off after it primes?

Don't be retarded, put an exhaust manifold and turbo on that thing before you screw something up. It is absolutely not good for the motor to run it with no exhaust manifold.

You don't really provide enough information to troubleshoot it either. Does it run fine then die? Run like crap then die? Restart immediately? Start with your MAF unplugged?

It does same thing with mafs unplugged. I Checked if fuel lines were reversed, and when i primed the fuel pump i felt alot of pressure buildup in the line going to the fuel rail and in the line coming from the FPR.. the pressure in the FPR felt considerably more...

so i switched the lines over and the car doeesnt even start now.. so i swapped em back. Could the FPR be bad or something? anybody know if advanced/autozone sells cheap 1/4" fuel pressure gauges?

Shiii this sucks

put your god damned manifold on.

and how do you have the maf attached to the engine?

also disconnect the TPS and see if it runs.

Tps disconnected, doesn't change. I'll put the manifold on tomorrow but i doubt thats the issue.

From the TB i have a charge pipe, and iacv is attached to it, then goes down to the mafs, (not hooked to intercooler yet) I have no vacuum leaks.

I am stumped, and I'm not sure if this could be wiring related. Should fuel pressure on the FPR return be very high? When i prime the fuel pump it feels like fuel is surging from it. Or is it just bleeding off the excess? Any idea anybody?

Dude are you serious? Why on earth would you run the engine with no exhaust manifold on it.

Thats like doing the oil change without putting the filter on and expecting it to hold oil pressure.

The immediate change in temperature from hot to cold air on the valve will/can warp the sh1t out of it and burn it to hell due to cold air getting back to the valves when the engine is shut off and the valve is still open, causing it not have good compression and cause the engine to die immediately after it starts even if it does.

Finish everything that needs to be done and try starting it. ECU is probably instantly going into fail safe or kills itself immediately if anything else.

You mean a line from the iacv to a charge pipe?

how is your pump wired ?

also check your fuel line, make sure it's not backward.
