here's my idea I got a turbo off a 87 300zx believe its a t3 and an IC from a 91 Volvo turbo. now I would need a turbo manifold, would the unstable hybrids manifold work??? and where could I get a downpipe that would work??? I know a guy at a muffler shop that can bend me my IC piping. there are a few things I'm not sure of where do i mount the maf??? where does the BOV go?? and what does it do??? is a bov neccesary??? does the turbo have a internal or external waste gate??? I believe its integral. does anyone know what the factory boost was on the 300zx???and how exactly does a RRFPR work and mount up???

No I only want to run about 7 psi would I need to replace the injectors and fuel pump or are they ok??? and will the RRFPR be enough to manage fuel??? and I will have to adjust my timing right??? and in which way???

Thanks for all the help I'm wandering off on my first turbo journey.oh yeah and its for a 92 240sx ka24de.

Yes the unstable hybrid one would work, but good luck tryin to get a hold of them. I tried gettin in contact with them a while back about their manifold but they don't answer their phone. Your friend at the muffler shop be able to make you a downpipe. The BOV releases pressure in the charge pipes, so that air doesn't rush back into your turbo. The T3 off of the z31 is internally wastegated. A rising rate fuel pressure regulator works by increasing the PSI in the fuel rail by the amount of PSI your turbo is putting out. You should replace the fuel pump, I think at 7psi the injectors should be fine, but it would be wise to just upgrade to 370cc injectors. At 7 psi I think the RRFRP should be fine, thats what I'm using. But others feel strongly that they suck and you should just get a AFC.

Since you are using the turbo off of a z31, you are goin to have to 'clock' it. Basically rotate the compressor and turbine around the center section. So that the oil feed line is on the top and the drain line is on the bottom, cuase otherwise if you don't they will be the other way around. Becuase the turbo was mounted originally sideways on the z31. You should also get the exhaust elbow/discharge flange that woudl have came with it on the z31, and your goin to have to get it cut right after the valve, then weld your downpipe on there.

good luck. hehe my 240th post.

so what manifold would you recomend and also where exactly would a RRFPR mount exactly where the stock regulator is I guess?? and what is a good brand and where can i pick one up???

And any idea what PSI the turbo would be set at from factory??? IE would I need a regulator of some sort???

And how bout the actual match of Z31 turbo to the KA will it be effiecent or is it too big or too small I want boost to come on atleast at 3500rpm.
