I know some of us have gauge pods located on the A-pillar of our cars. And I have yet to find a decent gauge pod that fits (one for a miata looks close, but I never got a chance to get a hold of it to find out).

My cousin works for a plastics company that makes interior pieces for Honda. Back around Christmas I threw this idea at him. Could his company make an A-pillar cluster that made the pod a molded in unit with the whole pillar. This would be a replacement piece for the whole A-pillar interior cover, instead of being some P.O.S. pod cover you drill into place.

He said his company should be able to do it, I would just need to call him later to see if getting a special ordered part would be plausible.

Now I haven't really talked to him about it since, but it's getting to be spring time, and the idea has hit me again. More than likely there is going to have to be a minimum number of units made. If I can get this to go through, would anyone else have interest in a product like this?

Definitely.

The S13 pillar pods don't fit a 'vert.

Otherwise, I might put mine in the dash (no need for a stereo).

I was actually looking at this topic today. I am definately in if someone gets them produced, I bought one of the DIN panel tri gauge mounts from eBay, and got it in today.

i've been using a standard S13 pillar pod, but it's been ground to fit somewhat decently. I still hate it. I started sloshing this idea around a few years ago, but I got bit by the bug to get it done recently. I'll call my cousin up this week and see what I can get going.
