So i was gong home today after my Design Graphics test, which was a pain in the ace, and this motorcycle cop passes me and turns around as im about to turn left. he comes up behind me and hits the lights and pulls me over. well, i finally got caught. my inspection sticker has been out since Dec. and this guy finally got me. i have passed dozens of cops before though, i have no idea why this one gets me, maybe hes trying to fill his quota. anywho, i found out its $111, but thats arlington's fee. i was just wondering if anyone knew the laws and knew whether i pay the fine for arlington or the fine for denton county where i live in. basically, do i pay their fine our the cost of my fine? man this sucks. guess im not going to Akon this year.

umm seth, not to sound like an a-hole, but why don't you get your car inspected?

I believe you pay the fine the city you were in imposes on you, considering if you took it to court you'd be sitting in that city's courthouse.

well, when it went out i was working on my car. it was down most of december and january. so when i got it running again, some other things needed fixing, and i didnt want to get it inspected and have them tell me it wont pass. so i just kept fixing little problems, and never got around tog etting it inspected. i just didnt want to. its my own fault, i had it coming. im just surprised it took 5 months. oh well, i guess i'll have to sell the body to get the $111, along with the inspection, which i hope i pass cause my back tires are pretty low.

it should be a fix-it ticket, get the car inspected and then go to arlington, they should dismiss the ticket and make you pay court fees of $20 or so.

dont know how it works around in other places but in NY fix it tickets are usualy on a 24 hour limit. But sometimes the cops may be nice and give you more time, depends on what type of day they're having.

it can be dismissed if the expired MVI sticker is within 60 days...not 5 months. anywho, i took it down to get inspected this morning, but it over heated. so i had to get a new thermostat and put it in. got home, did that, and took it back down there. well, when i got there both machines were down. sooo, i get to take it in tomorrow. now, the question is, do i go to school, and take care of it when i get back to the colony, oorrr...not go to school and take care of it in the morning. its dead week right now, so nothing new is happening. i could drop some stuff off tomorrow, or wait till thursday. i think i'll wait till thursday. looks like no school for me tomorrow. i still gotta call and make sure everything is taken care of though. gotta send in the ticket, then wait for them to get ahold of me. BTW, whats the difference between No Contest and Guilty???

Screw school, stay home. No Contest is just a way to make you feel better about things, ALWAYS put no contest instead of guilty, its a happier phrase :)

Nolo contendereLatin for "no contest." In a criminal proceeding, a defendant may enter a plea of nolo contendere, in which he does not accept or deny responsibility for the charges but agrees to accept punishment. The plea differs from a guilty plea because it cannot be used against the defendant in another cause of action.

More like "it's not worth the effort so I'm going to throw money at the problem to make it go away."
