Hey everyone. I know that a few people have some sweet installs or have done some for work so why not show it off here?

I'll start it off with the trunk of a WRX that came through the shop a few years ago.

heres a few of my recent ones...12" atomic ap in my old grand prixfriends 2 12" p2's. enclosure was 3cf@35hz. this one could have been nice, but he never payed me and he totalled the car...hence why its not finishedthis one will be finsihed one day, and there will be a second Fi Q added. the amp is an atomic a2200.1my 18" Fi BL in the trunk of the grand prix300zx...a 12" type x and alpine amp. again, i never got to finish this one, the plan was to glass the entire hatch area and conjoin it to the box. this explains why the sides arent finished. however i beleive he blew the engine or some ****...so oh well.

and skip ahead 30 hours of sanding...91 Skyline GTR. 2 sets of Digital Designs components, 1 Digital Designs c4 amp. 1 avh-p6800, dynamat origional.optima red top g34the skyline was hit by a drunk driver one night, right before the day i was suppose to start on the rest of the instal(substage etc). so this is how it looks now...a box i did for some dude.

and one i finished 2 days ago...in an escort. 2 sets of mtx speakers, a sub amp and 2 15's

it will be back for a new headunit and some things i want to change since ill have it.

My first setup (circa 1990) in a '83 Corolla coupe:

2ea MTX 12" Terminators (MTW-124's) and 2ea 8" MTX Terminators (You can see them on the back deck):

Kenwood CD, Kenwood EQ in the console. I had two Rockford 5.25" midbass drivers in each door with a Rockford tweeter. The console I built had two AR 3.5" drivers run in reverse (right channel was left speaker, etc) and I had another set of Rockford tweeters in the dash air vents.

Early view of the trunk. That's a Sony SEC-1000 Xover and a old Sherwood BP series amp that I still have

This car had numerous systems in it. At one point it had 4ea MTX 12's in a clamshell design that took up all the trunk space.

Here is a system with 2 MTX 8's that I did in a Silverado (the 8's from my Corolla + MTX Xover + the Sherwood from my Corolla + a Kenwood amp). Front speakers were MB Quart. This install was done around '92 and the 8's were replaced with JL 8w6's and the Sherwood was replaced with a Earthquake amp...

Here's the system in my last long-term vehicle...1993 Probe GT

Doors had a set of MB Quart 6.5" mids. I built the enclosure to help with midbass and it did a pretty good job

The sub was a JL 12w6(v1), amp was a PPI A600 and I used a AudioControl 4sx. This picture was taken before I installed a a/d/s PH15

Front of the box. 4ea Stinger 1fa caps

I had a pair of Rockford midbass in the rear along with a set of Quart tweeters (did not skew the soundstage at all). Front Quart tweeters were on the mirror sail-panels. Headunit was a Kenwood CD player and I had a Rockford PA1-HD pre-amp/EQ in the dash.

The first system in this car used the Quart fronts with a Orion Xtreme 12DVC in a bandpass enclosure off a USAmps 50HA. At one point I also used Adcom amps before going to the PPI and a/d/s setup.

System I did for another member here (2000 Maxima)....

Clarion DXZ545MP, Alpine SPX-177a components, Kicker KX700.5 and Diamond CM312D4 sub. The sub sucked *** and I think he is running a JL 12 now.

The system(s) in my current Maxima....Here are the stages thus far:

First enclosure being built:

First one done:

The above is the JL 12w6 from my Probe with the a/d/s amp. I had a AudioControl 2sx crossover as well. Front crossovers are MB Quart MusiComps.

Infinity Reference mid (tweeter in A-pillar) was used for the fronts since my old MB Quarts finally croaked:

Precision Power PAR-225 Quasi-parametric EQ/Pre-amp and Carver/KLW Phantom Bass processors in the glovebox:

I used the factory 6CD headunit and a PAC converter. I then pulled that out and installed a old Eclipse ECD-413 CD player and put the PPI in the dash (I have since upgraded to a Pioneer HU):

The Infinity component set was then ripped out and JL Audio XR650-CSi seperates were installed:

It was at this point that the surround failed on the now 14yo 12w6 sub. I popped in a Infinity Reference 12" sub that I hated as a temp replacement. After doing the other Maxima install listed above, I had a Diamond sub laying around so I installed that and since everything had been running off my a/d/s PH15 I installed a Alpine MRP-M450 monoblock for some additional power and sub control.

The Diamond sub ended up having a bad coil so I threw the now-repaired 12w6 back in. Unfortunately, it seemed to have some coil damage now so that sub had to be replaced as well. I took PMQ's advice and picked up a TC-9:

Here is the TC compared to my JL 12w6:

With the TC-9 in it was still was not sounding that great with the sub facing the back seat. After a week I decided to completely redo the sub enclosure.

Box 2:

Time for a Quasi-fiberglass enclosure. I had a 1.25cf box from another past install laying around that had a older Kicker C10a in it. I stripped off the carpeting and then cut out the wood from the top, sides and back (leaving the front and bottom wood) and made a new mounting spot for the sub. I then fiberglassed the rest:

With only 2 layers. I ended up with 6 layers total:

Now, for the hell of it I installed the Kicker C10a instead of the TC-9. I have the box setup for the TC-9 to be installed at a later time with just a bit of cutting but wanted to see what the Kicker sounded like. After listening to it I decided to keep the Kicker in for the time being. I also replaced the a/d/s amp with a Rockford 200.2:

For right now I will keep the Kicker in. It has enough bass where my radar detector will flop all over the place and that is enough for me right now. Before I get a new car and give the Max to the wife I will throw the TC-9 in just to see what it will do but that will have to wait for now.

I'll post a couple with different styles, but no matter what I like to keep it fairly simple. Most of my customers also have very low budgets, so I never get to do anything crazy. I also never take pictures of my work. Don't know why, I just don't care to.

I guess I should of clarified a little better. My customers tend to spend thousands on the equipment, but then spend hundreds on the install..... which would be a basic install on that much equipment.

Thanks for the compliment!

Nice work

I was starting to smooth out my current enclosure with Bondo until the wife had a fit about all the dust I was making . I pretty much said "screw it" and threw the carpet on there.

Oh well. It's only in there until I buy another car at some point (I've put it off for 2 years now so who knows when that will be) and it will be taken back to factory.
