My friend sold me his 1990 Q45 last night for 200 bux! Its the pearl white with 150k on the clock. She needs a new fuel pump and control unit, but other than that the only prob I am aware of is some small cosmetic stuff. So, now my only prob is what 2 do. I think I might give one of my Infinitis to my sister, depending on how much I like the Q. Do I keep my 93 J30 w/ 202k, or the 91Q w 150k? I am unsure if the chainstays in the q have been done, and I dont have pics yet, prolly be a few days. Let me know what u guys think. If you're feeling froggy, shoot me an offer on either car, I really dont need four vehicles. Thxs, Nico is Nice.

I think I can find a service history. It was my old friends car and he bought it from a friend of his fathers who is a Mercedes collector & has an underground climate controlled garage, or so the story goes. So, Im guessing he was meticulous in his maint., and I might be able to track him down. I talked my friend out of doing the cash for clunkers deal with it a cpl months ago, and told him I'd give him whatever trade in value he was offered. The fuel pump and c/u went out last week. He doesnt have the $$ to fix it, and the wrecker offered him $200. So she's mine.

That's an amazing deal!!!

Congrats.

Many years ago, when I was shopping for a J30, I almost bought a Q45. I preferred the J's interior.

Make sure the timing chain guide where upgraded. They have a bad habit of going and taking the engine with it.

Post some pics when you get a chance.

Great deal . Be prepared to fork out serious cash if you genuinely want to bring her back to oem specs. If I were you, I'd go over the entire car and it's history and evaluate how much it's going to cost to rehab and then see if it's worth it to you. Q45s are expensive to maintain. I, personally, will never do it again. That's just me though. Check out what Q45tech says about maintenance costs in the Q45 forum.

Was the club included .

Nope the club belonged to the prev owner's mechanic. Chain guides, all the injectors, and the under plenum hoses all have been replaced, also got some 18in M wheels for her. Whatcha think? Thx for looking.

I've used those portable steamers (get one that has attachments to handle household carpeted stairs) that you can rent at a supermarket. It worked well.

Seeing as how just the throttle body on that car will bring $100 on eBay, you got one heck of a deal!

Hey thx guys the Q45 is working out well. I've been driving her daily for over a month & no real issues whatsoever. My J30 is in my buddys garage right now getting her second timing belt & some body work, looking fwd to having them both running strong and looking good for spring.
