Got a speeding ticket last night....

So I was on my way to work last night, and saw a car going on the highway...with my ever present car brain giving me instructions I think," OOH!! What car is that?" I knew it was some sports car by the rear end, but I didn't know what type it was....it was too far away. Anyway, I speed up to see what car it is, and as I get closer I see 2 round tailights on each side of the car....Corvette? No to rounded on the back....I get a little closer and see a very recognizeable rear wing and fat, round body...oooh a Supra!!! I speed up and get next to him, and pass him very slowly....I see the guy look over at me and he smiles and pucnhes it....he passes me....I punch it...and catch up to him and get next to him. Before I know it I am going 110 and he is pulling away from me...We go for a couple of minutes, before he and I both slow down a little to exit the highway.... i look in my rearview mirror and I see another car come flying up beside me...I think."What car is wanting to joing in our late night fun?"I look over and I see the front end of a Crown Vic...Oh Sh**!!! He puts his lights on and motions me over. I start to pull over and he gets in front of me. I look ahead and the Supra is slowing down. I think,"Run Supra, c'mon run for it.." I was hoping the Supra would take off so the cop would chase after him... Anyway the Supra pulls over and the cop is between me and him. A few minutes later another cop joins us and he writes us a ticket...95 in a 65... anyway, I am having to sell my bass guitar to pay for the ticket...Probably be around 200 dollars...This'll be my first ticket on my record...I got away with speeding for the past 6 years I've been driving, but it finally caught up to me. I'm lucky I didn't get contest of speed or was arrested...I don't know about any other states, but in TX anything over 25 mph over the limit can land you in jail. Ohh, and don't gripe about my street racing...I know it was foolish and I'm going to be taking my racing off the street...It is just too expensive and too risky even though it was late at night.

Some lessons are painful and costly...this might be one of yours. Don't worry man, it's very hard NOT to break traffic laws, and I just got a ticket a couple of weeks ago....

My advice to you is to take traffic school online....much cheaper and a helluva lot more convenient (at your own pace).

Consider the consequences carefully before you speed at night-

I've been pulled over four times; three of them after 3am, and the other around midnight.

I just had to check out the redesigned railroad crossing...smooth @65, but not worth it.

The back of the ticket said I could take defensive driving course if the speed was 24 mph or less over the limit...mine was 30mph over :-(

Hmm...anything over 25 over in Iowa is considered a no no, as in they can revoke your license for a single offense. That sucks though man, sorry to hear.

Go to court, get the ticket reduced so its 24 over...then go to driving school. Talk to the prosecutor. If this is your first ticket in 6 years, thats not too shabby.

I was considering getting some new wheels for the Z...anyone know how much I could get for mine? They have Yokohama v-rated tires on them...about 10,000 miles on them

just be glad he didn't give you more than ONE ticket, I've had ***holes giving me :speeding, driving wrecklessly, AND a seatbelt ticket, just be happy he aint a *******, my tip to u is when u see lights flashin...ask urself u got ur seatbelt on?!

That really sucks. Try to contest it. Get it deferred. Its your first ticket in SIX YEARS. The judge would probably spring for it. Just agree to two years without an infraction if they take the ticket off your record. That's what I'm in the process of doing.

LOL, even though I have a 300zx, it's not as fast as most people think. Anybody that did the sr swap and nothing else could beat my car. I did have fun with him though. The other guy told me he had it up to 125...I've had my Z up that fast, just takes a little longer than the Supra

The N/A wheels are all 7.5", the rear turbo wheels are 8.5".

I got my set for $240 and they were in just about perfect condition without tires. It was a steal in my opinion. You could probably get $300 without tires if they are in good shape, and only probably like $350-$400 with tires. It all depends on who is buying them. I saw a set of turbo wheels (2 7.5" and 2 8.5") without tires go for more than $500. I'd put them on Ebay when you have time to put the 300zx on blocks for a while, or have enough to buy the wheels you want first. Last I looked there weren't too many stock 300zx wheels up there.

i got busted goin 120 in a 60 one time...i was pullin away from a car full of hot *** girls. the cops were waitin on me a few miles up the road. turns out a cop was running radar somewhere and called me in cuz he's too much of a p**** to catch me needless to say these guys were pretty cool. i admitted that i was "flirting" with the girls, and they let me go...after i was in handcuffs in the back of the police car. no warning, no nothing....SOME POLICE are cool as hell... i got lucky.
