i have had my versa for about a week and a half. i am vary happy with it so far, it has been a pleasure to drive and own.

this is my first car and im 17 years old.

i washed it for the first time today and went to pop the hood to dry under there.when i reached for the latch to open it i gave it a tug and the hood didnt open.i sat there and tried to figure something out but nothing that i could figure out.i have poped the hood 1 time and that was befor i bought the car, it worked fine then.

i am wondering if this will be under the warranty.

i plan on taking it to the dealership tomorrow to see what is wrong with it.

First off Welcome to Nico.

As for the hood release it is kind of tricky on this car. You need to go from the middle right to the left while pressing down on the grille.

the handle is like this

------------------------------------------------ <--hood==========_____/___========= <--latch............................................................ <--grille

the "/" needs to be pushed to the left. I hope this helps, i knot it isnt the best drawing.

yes i understand that the hood latch under the hood is kinda tricky, i spent awhile at the dealership tring to figure it out ha.

but im talking about the hood release in the car befor you get to the one under the hood.

it dosnt release the hood to even open it at all.

you shouldn't have any warranty problems, unless they can prove that you ripped the cable off and they might have to order the part so it might take a few days. But your car is still drivable so i wouldn't worry about it too much.

awsome, thanks for the help.

i was worried that i was going to have to pay some for the parts and labor, which would have made me mad. ha ive had the care for a week and a half, not even 300 miles on it yet and im already having repairs done.

atleast its minor and nothing that isnt hopefully an easy fix.

but thanks again for the help.

im going to try to become an active member of this form.

I have had our V for almost a year. The hood release at the front is always tricky releasing. The release inside seems to operate easily, I just don't pull it very hard.

This happended to me too, what you need to do is tighten the cable where the hood release is, its actually quite simple, if not that then the cable snapped and you need it replaced.

well i just got back from the dealership.

it was a quick fix.

the cable just came off the lever i think and there wasnt enough tenshion to pop the hood.

haha i felt like an idiot for even being there after i found out the problum, if i would have sat there and messed around with it i could have figured it out.
