You're looking at about 9,000-10,000 dollars for engine/parts/installation. Enjoy your day.

The cost will be about the same like dauntless said. There wouldn't be any real cost differences between the 2 setups. If your going to buy a full turbine setup it usually costs about the same price for two closely spec'd turbos. You can use stock bottom end to achieve the the 350-400hp level on both engines. You'll just have to spend some time on head work.

DIY port and polishing -- http://www.sa-motorsports.com/diyport.htm

I've used this port and polish method on two of my friends' heads and it worked great. One was a GS-R (B18C1) head, and the other one was a lowly D16 head (really made a difference).

I used the method above with an added extra method of using a flexible shaft and flap wheel to smoothen out the inner ports that can't be reached by a conventional shaft.

I never said this ""also how can u say there the same when the ca18det is almost sr20det??????"

There similar motors. The ca puts out 185hp and the sr puts out 205hp. There both 4 cyclinder turbo setups and with similar mods you'll see similar results. You'll just have to make the ca push a little more air to achieve the same (or as close as possible) results. So maybe slightly different cams and turbo setup. It doesn't matter wether you buy 256 degree cams or 264 degree cams there gonna cost the same. Same goes for turbo's. If you buy an hks gt-rs or the hks 2835 there both in the same price range and with the two setups you'll see similar outcomes. My point is your gonna spend the same amount on each setup to achieve the same goal. In my opinion I would build up the ca since it has a cast iron block but there aern't as many parts available for it as the sr. So I would have to go with the sr. Just my 2 cents.

After you get into the big horsepower and larger mods, the displacement between the two will seperate them in the crowd. Also he is correct on getting parts for each. SR20 is just flat out more popular.

you dont need 10 grand to get 400 horse out of a sr.... just turn up boost... it will all work itself out.
