so when i got pulled over and got a fixit ticket for my tail lights being tinted, the officer told me that it wont show in my record. so does that mean if i change tail lights with a buddy of mine just so i can prove i got it fixed then just put the ones i had back would this show a cop that i got pulled over befor for having my tail lights tinted if he runs my plates?

nope... it just like getting a window tint fix it ticket. When i got mine i went ahead and took them off. Went to the police station showed the officer, he sign off the ticket and i just send it in. Next day went to the shop and put the tint back on. It wont affect you in any case. they just want to see you fixed it.

I'm curious. When you KNOW it's illegal, why drive around with overly tinted or whatever illegal and highly VISIBLE mods? Is it really really really worth the hassle, loss of money (fines), points on the license so your car can look good to you for the 4 seconds you see the tail light when walking around the parking lot? I must be missing something. I understand wanting the car to look good, but really, why risk messing with the cops?

i think the only problem you would have is if that same cop pulled you over again. slim chance, but hey you could get lucky one day

What do you mean nope ???If he switched taillights and put his old ones back on after getting the ticket written off he should be fine. You can DIY (yes even if it's paint) and therefore not have a receipt from a company. How are they going to prove you switched lights ???
