Hey,

I'm new here and I'm looking at getting an '08 Altima Coupe, and I was wondering if I could get a little advice here. I've found one that I like, and the link is here http://www.emicheasy.com/VehicleDetails/375332993. It's got a clean Autocheck, and while the miles are a little high at 28k, I'm planning on keeping it for quite awhile so I'm not too worried about it.

Plus I suppose it's nice and broken in and still has a decent amount of warranty left in it, should I have any issues. I don't put too many miles on my current vehicle, and that probably won't change in the near term, less than 8k a year, so I'll have awhile to figure it all out.

They're asking $15,390, which seems like a good price, certainly on the low side. What are people's thoughts on that? Not so much whether or not it's cheap enough, because I feel like that's pretty reasonable, but more about it being a good opportunity. Something to consider hard, or keep on looking? Any responses are greatly appreciated.

First off welcome tot he forums As for the coupe, are you sure you want to go with a 2.5 instead of a 3.5? No sense on getting this if you're looking for overall HP. IMO, look for a 3.5 with a 6MT instead. You'll be better off in the long run.

Actually, at this point I'm ok with the 2.5. I've driven it and it's actually good enough for me. I don't need the power to be honest, I just want a car that has the looks I want and is something I'll be happy to be driving for awhile.

It's got the power that's the same as my spec-v I'm currently driving and a curb weight that's just about the same so I'm good with that. The main things to me are that it has an awesome look IMHO, I'll be able to change it as I see fit, and it's got enough get up and go for my purposes. With that in mind, do you think this is a decent vehicle for my purposes?

Welcome to nico.

As dangeris stated if you could hold out and wait for a 3.5 i would do it. But you said it has enough pep for ya so go for it. Id say 15,000 is a good deal, try to get them down to 13, 5 and you would walk away with a steal.

I have a 2.5, when i got it i was like dang this thing is fast. I was coming from a 2000 dodge neon 2.0.

Heck yeah she is a hot looking car. What do you plan on changing as you see fit?

Go for it man, go buy it now

Thanks for the welcome, and I appreciate the response, I thought it was a pretty decent deal as well. As far as changing things, at the moment I've just got a couple visual type deals that would be nice to do... I was looking at the projector thread on here, which I think would be a solid idea, and also my bro just bought a G35 and I'm thinking it could be sweet to throw some of their OEM 18's or 19's on it... they really have some nice wheels, and much better than what's on it now.

Beyond that, I think that's what this forum will be for, helping me figure out what additions would best fit it.

It's funny, I mean I thought the Sentra was fast, and compared to the old Buick and Alero that my bro and I were sharing at the time it was.

2.5 has ok speed for a coupe. But I'd go with 3.5 because you will regret getting 2.5 instead 3.5 in the future.

I've owned 07 2.5 altima and it was tearing my heart out everytime I saw a 3.5. I kicked myself in the head for not putting a little more money and get a VQ engine. The point is - don't settle for less because you will regret.

Just my .025 cent.

If your ok with the 2.5 power wise.. no point in getting the 3.5 because the gas mileage is considerably worse. so you'll save money on gas and the car itself.Welcome and i love the coupe in blue. wish i had got it but i still love my black.

Thanks for the input, and honestly I'm just going for a car that appeals to me more from the looks side than the power side... If I really want that then someday maybe I'll upgrade to something with the horses, but for now this car has a kickazz look and that works for me

ya thats a pretty good deal and it looks nice. the reason everyone is saying to go with the 3.5 is because the 2.5 isn't like your sentra. the SE-R spec V has a huge aftermarket support and the 2.5 altima coupe doesn't and most stuff from the 2.5 in the sentra wont fit on the 2.5 in the coupe. so bottom line is that if you dont care about speed then go for the 2.5 BUT if your saying right now i dont really care about speed and later on ill do upgrades to the 2.5 and make it faster, that wont work. so my advice is to buy the 2.5 IF you dont plan to do power upgrades (except for like intake and exhaust)...... but welcome to the forums

Thanks, and yeah I understand that. I'm not saying I want to do a lot of power mods to the A/C, I was just saying it's at the very least comparable to the spec-v in that department. The Sentra was enough for me, so this will be enough for me, I just meant in the future I'd get a car with a bigger engine if I so desired.

Haha shoot hopefully my brother would let me give his G a whirl once he gets it if I felt the urge, but I'm not too worried about the power.
