As most of you know I got new rims TSW Sakata 5 with Nitto Gen tires well I have a little strange problem that maybe someone can assist me. The first day I got the wheels they didn't lose air pressure, but yesterday it was parked in my driveway and overnight it lost 25lbs. It was set at 35 dropped to 10. I took it to a tire store they checked for nails and leaks couldn't find anything wrong. Last night the tire pressure at 11 I checked the pressure it was at 35 still from 10am that morning. 230am my g/f took the car home and the TPMS came on and she checked it and it had 11 lbs. So from 11pm-230am it lose 24lbs but from 10am-11pm it lost no pressure. This is driving me crazy please help. sorry for the long post

Is it just one rim?

There could be a slow leak and the folks that did the leak test didn't spend enough time looking for it. They were probably used to looking for fast, puncture type leaks and this is more of a seeping, drip style leak that requires time and patience to find. I suggest using a kiddy pool or large bathtub to find it. Submerge the rim and tire fully in water, inflated to proper pressure. Where ever the bubbles come from, theres your leak. However do not do this if the ambient temperature is below 40 degrees as it could result in damage to the valve stem and such due to ice.

The leak is likely between the rim and the tire and the fix would be a bead sealing compound but, start with the the leak test first.

BTW it is possible that the leak is through the rims. Alloy rims are porous and they use a clear coat not only to protect the finish, but only to seal the pores.

Good luck bud

Well, the first thing I can think of is a problem with the tire valves. They have little things inside the valve stem (the valves themselves), and they might be loose. They can simply be tightened with a special tool.

The kiddy pool is out of question because temp is 30 and below everyday. yes it is only 1 rim so I'm not sure really what to do, but isn't it weird that it doesn't loss pressure for 12 hrs then loses 25lbs in 3-4 hrs

I have checked the stem multiple times and it is not leaking. I hope I just need the bead sealing compound

Take your rim in the bathtub man, you'll see for sure and you won't have a problem with temperature
