ok i have an 06 spec v here is what i have done to it. nismo intake dc headers and coustom exhaust. here is the problem my car is shakin when idle and all the way up. took it to nissan and they told me it was that i have no cat and which it causes it to read bad o2 sensor causing it to run rich casuing car to shake (this is what the tech told me). so i went out and bought a hi flow cat and installed 300 bucks down the drain. but it took the check enigne light off. car still shakes. at the same time of me taking it to nissan they replaced three of the mounts front passengar side and rear.

after doing some talkin with some friends i have come to that it is not the rings no smoke. this is what could be the problem stuck valve i just put so fuel injector cleaner in it hoping it was just carbon bluid up nothing.

does this make sense what could it be anybody have the same problem i need some help and really dont want to open head. HELP ME PLEASE I MISS DRIVIN FAST LOL.

First off, the stuff about not having a cat causing you to run rich is BS. The first O2 sensor reads the "raw" signal anyway, and it is the only one that has any effect on A/F mixture. The second is purely for emissions purposes so we can save polar bears, sing Kum Ba Yah, and feel good about ourselves.

That aside, I take it you're not throwing any other codes.

Did you install all of this at the same time, or did you do it over a period of time so that you drove it in-between? I ask because if you're intake install caused your MAF to go bad, your engine may be having air metering issues.

Does the shaking increase with revs or just stay the same? Could be a bad engine mount.

Did you recently re-oil the filter? Could be a dirty MAF. Try cleaning it regardless (sometimes they get dirty seemingly out of nowhere). Mist some Windex over the MAF while holding it vertically and use a shop vac to blow air through to blow the excess off and dry it.

A completely randomly stuck valve doesn't make a lot of sense, and you'd likely be throwing a code for a misfire or something similar.

Have you checked on recalls? Seems like I remember a fuel pump recall on 06's that could explain this. Have the dealer run your VIN.

It's also possible that you've sucked in a butterfly screw and it is interfering with a valve. Have you Loctite'd them?

i havent yet i have a recall on the ecu something about the car shuting off but nothing else. ill go have it done soon short on time and crap. but when i got the car i had the fuel pump replaced so ill check it anyways.

well this is what i did today i was about to swap out my MAF sensor and when i was takin it off i notice a whole in the fliter i have a nismo intake but i dont have a by pass valve so i short ramed it to where it is in between the battery and the wheel well it rubbed a hole in it. i noctice to that the fliter is just metal mesh. and notice very fine dust in the intake. i just got the filter like two weeks before this happened so i dont see it causing the problem maybe. so damned pissed off right now about this. but thanks for ur help.

That hole could have pulled in something to kill the MAF or, worse, something deeper in the engine.
