Got a new truck yesterday

Well, I finally broke down and bought a new truck yesterday. It's a 2003 Chevy S-10. My family owns the dealership so I got a good deal, but I really wanted a 240. Oh well, I guess I will have to save up and buy an older one sometime down the road.

well...at least you sound happy. I used to have a 97 S10, it was a nice ride for a truck. But it consumed half the worlds gasoline and handled like crap. My Truck was stock, they have some good potential though. (V8 swap...mmmm even more torque) My 240sx would get smoked in a straight line drag versus a V6 S10, but the handling differences make it all worth it. I should have some nice JDM turbo power under my hood in the near future anyway. haven't decided on what flavor.

Yeah the handling in a stock S-10 is pretty much crap, but I got one with the ZQ8 suspension package(same as an Xtreme) so it handles better than some cars. But hopefully I will be getting an older 240 in the near future and then swapping in an SR for more go power.

Nothing wrong with an S10. They're not made for autocrossing. Very practical trucks, and I'm sure you got a great deal. Of course if my family owned a Chevy dealership, I'd probably be thinking Z06 before a 240sx. Enjoy your truck.

Yeah the S10 is a cool truck for sure. But a truck is a truck, no denying that. My S10 was pretty fast, i could smoke like Maximas and all those mid size V6s. All stock, loads of low end torque. The Vortec 4300 is strong, but it drinks a mother load of gas. i swear i got like 15mpg in that hog, 2wd. But i do tend to have a heavy foot. a new S10 combined with a 240sx project car would be dope, your gonna have a blast with that setup. I just dont have the cash to afford another vehicle. Hey what color S10 did you get? I had the cherry metalic color, it was dope.

Ive always thought that S10's looked like good basic trucks..My dads 94 Ranger Splash looks great to the eyes..but speed ride, and turning OMG is just HORRIBLE..I think its the four cylinder too.

I got a white one. I really wanted pewter because it always looks clean but being late in the model year and GM not making S10's next year kind of limited my choices.
